PHP 208,000/month base. Bonus on top. Direct hire by a US founder who's built two supplement brands in the New York area. Not an agency. Not a BPO.
You'll be the senior analyst seat at a US-based supplement and functional food company. You live inside Amazon Brand Analytics, SmartScout, Helium 10, and DataDive every day. You spot category opportunities. You write the niche analyses that drive what products we launch. You iterate with our internal AI systems to land usable outputs.
This is strategic work. Not data entry. Not VA tasks. Not transcription.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE JOB
You're our detective and our analyst. You don't formulate. You don't run ads. You don't manage anyone.
Half the week, you live in Brand Analytics, SmartScout, Helium 10, DataDive, Kalodata, and on competitor product pages. You're watching click share shift on the keywords that matter. You're noticing when an emerging brand jumps three tiers in 60 days and asking why. You're tracking which branded ingredients are getting picked up by which mid-market brands. You're spotting new entrants before they hit page one. You're catching what's trending on Reddit and Google Trends before it shows up on Amazon BA.
The other half, you turn observations into niche analyses and iterate with our AI product development system. When something is worth pursuing, you produce a structured research document defining the opportunity: market size, keyword landscape with realistic and stretch targets, top 10 competitor table with revenue and formulas, competitor packaging analysis, regulatory flags, and a clear strategic angle with competitive positioning recommendation. Tight. Opinionated. Numbers cited.
That analysis plus our weekly market intelligence report feed into an internal AI-powered product development system. The system produces proposals, packaging concepts, wireframes, spec sheets, and supplier quotes.
Cadence: 1-2 niche analyses per week from initial research through final brief.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE WEDGE DISCIPLINE
Every niche analysis must answer one sentence: why does a customer click us instead of the top three incumbents already on page one?
Format wedge. Ingredient wedge. Audience wedge. Claim wedge. One of those four has to be defensible, or the analysis isn't ready to ship to the build pipeline.
You will be the person who finds that wedge and writes the case for it.
If you read this and think "yeah, obviously," we should talk.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
YOU QUALIFY IF:
- 3-5 years at a US-based DTC brand, Amazon-native operation, or ecommerce agency doing product or category research
- You've pulled Brand Analytics. You've used SmartScout or Helium 10 or DataDive in a real job
- You can read a Top Search Terms report and explain what 70% click share at 1% conversion share means
- You know what a 12 month growth +49% with 1 month growth -3% on a 730-day-old listing tells you, and how that differs from the same numbers on a 90-day-old listing
- You recognize branded ingredients (Creapure, KSM-66, Magtein, Affron, GlucoVantage, AstaReal) and can verify a dose or form claim quickly
- You understand basic supplement regulatory compliance: structure/function vs. disease claims, NDI status, GLP-1 framing risk, kids product compliance
- You understand TACoS at launch vs. mature phase. You can talk to a PPC operator about CPR and rank cost
Supplement, beauty, or functional food category experience preferred (supplements strongest)
- Native or near-native English writing. Tight. No filler. No hedging.
-2-3 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time during business hours required (your specific window is flexible)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
YOU DO NOT QUALIFY IF:
-You're a VA looking for any remote US gig
-You've never used Brand Analytics or Helium 10 in a real job
-You want a research assistant role with no strategic ownership
-AI feels like a threat to your craft
-You hedge in your writing
-Iterating with imperfect AI tools multiple rounds per project sounds tedious
HOW YOU'LL USE AI
Our internal systems are AI-powered. The weekly market intelligence report is AI-generated. The product development pipeline is AI-powered.
The AI does the heavy drafting. Your judgment is the shipping layer. Expect 3-5 iteration rounds on a clean brief, more on novel categories. Wrong doses. Non-compliant claims. Suppliers we can't source from. Capsule fit math that's off. You catch them, you push back with specific corrections, the system reworks.
You're already using Claude or ChatGPT for 30%+ of your daily work. You have opinions about prompt structure. You've hit hallucinations and learned to spot them.

HOW TO APPLY
Send to
1. Resume. One to two pages, English.
2. Two writing samples. Research documents, product briefs, strategy memos, internal docs you've produced for previous employers. We're judging the writing quality, not the topic. Work product from a US-based brand is a plus.
3. A 500-word take. Pick a supplement category on Amazon we should NOT enter. Name the category. Name three incumbents on page one. Show your data. Tell us why entering is a bad call. Be opinionated. ChatGPT-generic answers get cut on the first read.
4. A 10-minute Loom video. Open Amazon. Pick one supplement category you'd advise us to enter and one to skip. Five minutes each. Show your screen. Read the data out loud. Don't just describe the listings. Tell us what you'd dig into next and why.
If we're interested: a paid 48-hour take-home ($100 USD) where we share a sample market report and ask you to produce one niche analysis. Then a 90-minute video working session with the founder reading data together. Then references.
No phone screens. No 6-round panels.
Two weeks to apply. One seat. We move fast on the right candidate.
Thanks
