We are an Australian-based accounting and finance company looking for a dedicated, reliable, and long-term professional to join our growing team.
We are currently hiring for a remote position focused on supporting **Australian Individual Tax Returns**.
This role is ideal for someone with an accounting or bookkeeping background, good attention to detail, and a strong willingness to learn and grow within an Australian accounting business.
Experience preparing Australian Individual Tax Returns is **not mandatory**, but it will be considered a strong advantage.
The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of accounting, bookkeeping, Xero, Australian tax-related documents, ATO processes, and general administrative tasks.
About the Role
The successful candidate will assist with:
Preparing and organising information for Australian individual tax returns
Reviewing client documents and tax-related information
Checking income statements, PAYG summaries, bank interest, dividends, and other income details
Assisting with work-related deduction information
Organising supporting documents
Preparing basic rental property information when required
Preparing basic sole trader information when required
Using Xero to check and organise accounting information
Data entry and document organisation
Communicating with the team when required
General admin support related to tax preparation
Skills We Are Looking For
Good understanding of Xero
Good understanding of ATO documents and Australian tax-related information
Accounting or bookkeeping knowledge
Good Excel skills
Good English communication skills
High attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work under pressure during tax season
Reliable, professional, and proactive attitude
Willingness to learn Australian Individual Tax Returns
Experience with Australian Individual Tax Returns is a strong advantage, but not mandatory
Experience with Australian accounting firms is highly preferred
