JOB OVERVIEW

Statement of Work (SOW):
Accessible Document Remediation. MS Word, PowerPoint and Adobe InDesign to WCAG 2.2 AA and PDF/UA. (MUST HAVE)

We are seeking an experienced document accessibility remediation specialist or small team to support a confidential client project involving remediation of multiple business and policy documents to meet PDF/UA and WCAG 2.2 AA compliance standards.

The engagement involves reviewing and remediating a collection of existing Microsoft Word and PDF documents to ensure they are accessible for screen reader users and compliant with current digital accessibility standards. Deliverables will include fully accessible tagged PDFs and updated accessible source files/templates where required.

Scope of Work

The project includes:

* Remediation of several medium to high complexity reports and submissions (4) ranging from approximately 7 to 105 pages
* Structural accessibility remediation in Microsoft Word
* PDF tagging and compliance remediation to PDF/UA standards
* Reading order, heading structure, lists, tables, hyperlinks and semantic tagging
* Accessible colour contrast and formatting adjustments where required
* Alt text implementation for supplied imagery and graphics
* Accessibility uplift of an existing brand style guide
* Remediation and redesign of accessible document templates in Microsoft Word
* Quality assurance and validation against WCAG 2.2 AA and PDF/UA requirements

Deliverables

* Final accessible PDFs compliant with PDF/UA and WCAG 2.2 AA
* Updated accessible Microsoft Word source documents/templates
* Documentation of any remediation considerations or limitations identified during the process

Project Requirements

* Strong demonstrated experience in document accessibility remediation
* Experience using tools such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, PAC, CommonLook, axesPDF, Microsoft Word accessibility tools, or equivalent
* Understanding of WCAG 2.2 AA and PDF/UA compliance requirements
* Ability to work carefully with structured corporate and government-style documents
* High attention to detail and strong QA practices

Confidentiality

This project is being delivered under a strict confidential client engagement. Successful applicants will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to receiving source materials or client information. Public disclosure of the client, project content, or deliverables will not be permitted.

Timeline

Estimated project duration is approximately 15 to 20 business days from receipt of all required source files and supporting assets.

Notes

* Supporting content such as approved alt text, optimised graphics, and final source materials will be supplied prior to commencement
* Minor layout or colour adjustments may be required to achieve accessibility compliance
* Website implementation, publishing system integration, or e-signature platform remediation are not included in scope unless separately agreed
