JOB OVERVIEW

I am looking for an experienced, proactive Shopify Dropshipping Growth Operator to help me build, configure, and launch a brand new pet e-commerce store from scratch. This is a project-based role to get the business fully operational, with an immediate opportunity to transition into a permanent, long-term store management/VA position based on performance.
The target audience is the Australian market. You must have direct experience building high-converting stores specifically using Australian dropshipping suppliers (e.g., Dropshipzone, iDropship).
Phase 1: The Build & Launch (Project Scope)
• Market Research: Help analyze competitor pet brands in Australia and select 10–15 high-margin, winning "hero" products (e.g., smart pet tech, orthopedic bedding).
• Store Creation: Install and fully customize a clean, premium Shopify 2.0 theme (e.g., Dawn or Sense). Ensure a seamless desktop and mobile user experience.
• Supplier & App Automation: Fully integrate our chosen Australian supplier portal via apps like Sofortig or AutoDS to automate inventory, pricing rules, and order syncing.
• High-Converting Copy & Assets: Write benefit-driven, engaging product descriptions tailored to Aussie pet parents. Set up basic branding assets using Canva.
• Shipping & Payment Logic: Set up complex shipping profiles (bundling rules, free shipping zones for Australia) and integrate Shopify Payments alongside local "Buy Now, Pay Later" choices like Afterpay.
• Legal Compliance: Ensure all standard compliance pages (Australian Consumer Law compliant Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, Terms) are fully configured.
Phase 2: Ongoing Store Maintenance (Long-Term Role)
Once the store goes live, you will shift into managing the daily operations:
• Fulfilling supplier orders daily and uploading tracking numbers.
• Managing customer service emails and social media interactions.
• Monitoring price fluctuations and adjusting inventory listings.
• Handling basic email marketing flows (Klaviyo) and social media posting.
Requirements:
• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of verified experience building and launching successful Shopify dropshipping stores.
• Market Knowledge: Clear understanding of Australian consumer expectations, currency (AUD), and fast local shipping expectations (3–7 days).
• Tech Stack: Expert in Shopify, AutoDS/Sofortig, Canva, and Klaviyo.
• Communication: Fluent, high-level written and spoken English.
• Reliability: Able to work independently with minimal micromanagement.
Compensation & Working Hours:
• Phase 1 (The Build): Fixed-price project fee or hourly rate (Please state your rate/bid in your application).
• Phase 2 (Ongoing): Part-time or Full-time monthly retainer (Negotiable based on launch success).
• Time Zone: Must have at least a 2–3 hour overlap with Melbourne/Sydney (AEST) working hours for regular communication.
