Caliber is a U.S.-based marketing and growth firm serving local service businesses, professional services companies, B2B brands, and growing companies across multiple industries. We are looking for a skilled Video Editor to help create social media videos, short-form clips, commercials, testimonial edits, webinar/podcast cutdowns, and marketing videos across multiple client accounts.
This is not just a basic video clipping role. We need someone who understands social-first video, hook-first editing, clean pacing, captions, brand consistency, and platform-specific formatting.
You will work with our copywriters, designers, social media managers, and marketing strategists to turn raw footage, interviews, podcasts, webinars, testimonials, screen recordings, and client videos into polished content for LinkedIn, Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts,
WHAT YOU WILL OWN:
VIDEO EDITING & PRODUCTION
• Editing raw footage into polished final cuts.
• Editing talking-head videos, interviews, testimonials, webinars, podcasts, screen recordings, and client footage.
• Cleaning up awkward pauses, filler words, and rough cuts when needed.
• Jump cut editing for fast-paced social content.
• Pacing and rhythm editing to match the brand, platform, and audience.
• Basic color correction and color grading.
• Basic audio cleanup, noise reduction, and volume leveling.
• Adding music, sound effects, and audio transitions when appropriate.
• Adding simple B-roll from provided footage or stock libraries when needed.
• Creating clean, professional edits for both local service businesses and professional brands.
SHORT-FORM & SOCIAL VIDEO

• Creating offer-based video ads.
• Creating founder-led or spokesperson-style ad edits.
• Creating testimonial ad edits.
• Creating before-and-after style videos when applicable.
• Creating event promo videos.
• Creating launch videos.
• Creating multiple ad variants from one source video, including different hooks, lengths, CTAs, and formats.
• Editing retargeting video clips.
TESTIMONIAL & SOCIAL PROOF VIDEOS
• Editing customer testimonial videos.
• Editing client interview clips.
• Editing review-based videos.
• Editing case study video snippets.
• Creating social proof highlight reels.
• Pulling the strongest quotes from longer recordings.
• Adding captions, quote emphasis, speaker labels, and branded frames.
• Creating clean, professional testimonial edits that feel credible and polished.
PODCAST, WEBINAR & LONG-FORM REPURPOSING
• Editing podcast clips.
• Editing webinar clips.
• Editing video call clips.
• Editing Loom or screen recording clips.
• Editing guest interview clips.
• Cleaning up webinar recordings when needed.
• Creating highlight reels from longer recordings.
• Pulling 5-10 short clips from longer videos when needed.
• Adding intro/outro sequences, music beds, chapter markers, or title cards when needed.
• Repurposing one long video into multiple short-form social clips.
CAPTIONS & SUBTITLES
• Adding burned-in captions for social videos.
• Creating styled captions that match brand guidelines.
• Cleaning up auto-generated captions for accuracy.
• Making captions readable, properly timed, and visually clean.
• Using caption tools such as CapCut, Descript, Premiere Pro, Kapwing, or similar tools.
• Supporting subtitle formatting when needed.
• Ensuring names, titles, brands, and important terms are spelled correctly.
MOTION GRAPHICS & VISUAL ELEMENTS
• Adding lower thirds, including names, titles, locations, and company names.
• Adding title cards.
• Adding intro and outro sequences.
• Adding animated text overlays.
• Adding simple kinetic typography when needed.
• Adding call-to-action overlays and end screens.
• Adding logo placements and branded frames.
• Adding progress bars, countdown timers, or visual accents when appropriate.
• Adding simple transitions and motion elements.
• Using graphics provided by the designer when needed.
• Creating simple motion graphics when within your skill set.
BRANDED VIDEO SYSTEMS
• Following client brand guidelines.
• Using correct logos, colors, fonts, and visual styles.
• Creating consistent caption styles per client.
• Creating consistent lower-third styles per client.
• Creating reusable video templates when appropriate.
• Collaborating with the designer on branded frames, intros, outros, thumbnails, title cards, and motion graphics assets.
• Maintaining visual consistency across video content for each client.
THUMBNAILS & VIDEO COVERS
• Creating or supporting thumbnails for social videos.
• Creating YouTube thumbnail drafts when needed.
• Creating LinkedIn video cover images.
• Creating Reel/TikTok/Shorts cover frames when needed.
• Collaborating with the designer when more polished thumbnail design is needed.
FILE MANAGEMENT & DELIVERY
• Organizing raw footage and project files by client.
• Naming files clearly.
• Exporting in the correct format and size for each platform.
• Exporting vertical, square, horizontal, and ad-ready versions when needed.
• Maintaining draft and revision versions.
• Delivering final files through Google Drive, Dropbox,
• Keeping editable project files organized.
• Maintaining a video asset library per client when needed.
• Tracking revisions and file status clearly.
COLLABORATION
• Work from creative briefs provided by the copywriter, strategist, or social media manager.
• Coordinate with the designer on brand look, lower thirds, captions, colors, fonts, title cards, thumbnails, and intro/outro graphics.
• Coordinate with the social media manager on platform specs, publishing dates, video lengths, captions, and file delivery.
• Coordinate with the copywriter on hooks, scripts, voiceover copy, caption copy, and testimonial quote selections.
• Flag poor footage, bad audio, missing assets, unclear instructions, or quality issues early.
• Communicate clearly about timelines, blockers, and revisions.
STRATEGY SUPPORT
• Recommend which raw footage
• Suggest content formats based on platform trends.
• Identify repurposing opportunities from existing video libraries.
• Suggest different hooks, cutdowns, and formats from the same source footage.
• Stay current on social video editing styles, platform formats, and short-form video best practices.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

ROLE BOUNDARIES:
• Filming or videography will usually come from the client, Caliber, or another tea
• Graphic design beyond basic overlays will usually be handled by the designer.
• Scriptwriting and long-form copy will usually come from the copywriter.
• Social media scheduling will usually be handled by the social media manager.
• Final content strategy will usually come from Caliber leadership.
• Paid ads management will usually be handled separately.
• Client-facing strategy calls will usually go through Caliber leadership.

PAID TEST:
Finalists may be asked to complete a short paid test:
• Edit one short-form video from provided raw footage.
• Add captions.
• Add basic branded styling.
• Create a strong hook in the first few seconds.
• Export the video in a social-ready format.
• Send a short note explaining your editing choices.
