FileMaker Pro Developer / Programmer

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Computer Programmer specializing in FileMaker Pro to design, develop, and maintain custom database solutions. This role requires deep expertise in FileMaker Pro, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to build reliable, scalable systems that support publishing and business workflows.
The ideal candidate is FileMaker Pro certified, has at least five years of hands-on development experience, and is comfortable working independently on complex database-driven projects.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain custom FileMaker Pro solutions
• Build and optimize databases, scripts, layouts, and calculations
• Integrate FileMaker with external systems, files, and data sources as needed
• Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing FileMaker applications
• Ensure data integrity, performance, and security
• Document database structures, scripts, and workflows
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Provide ongoing maintenance and support as systems evolve
Requirements
• FileMaker Pro certification (required)
• Minimum of 5 years professional experience developing in FileMaker Pro
• Strong understanding of relational database design and best practices
• Experience with scripting, automation, and workflow optimization
• High attention to detail and data accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities
Preferred (Not Required)
• Experience supporting publishing, metadata, or content-management workflows
• Familiarity with ONIX, structured data, or file-based automation
• Experience with APIs, data imports/exports, or system integrations
• General programming or scripting background beyond FileMaker
