JOB OVERVIEW

Experience in AU Lender Mortgage side is needed for this role.

Job Brief

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Credit Analyst to support our lenders in managing the end-to-end mortgage application process. This role requires a professional with a minimum of 3 to 4 years of specific Australian mortgage and lending experience; as such, we are looking for a candidate who can hit the ground running without the need for foundational training. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of a loan, from lead conversion and data entry to credit assessment and post-settlement enquiries. While you will receive initial support, you are expected to take full ownership of your workflow, ensuring all applications meet rigorous credit policies and legislative standards.

Responsibilities
Salesforce & LoanApp Management: Managing accurate data entry within Salesforce and overseeing the LoanApp platform to ensure seamless application flows.
Lead Conversion: Creating leads and converting them into opportunities within the CRM system.
Application Submission: Submitting completed loan applications to the funder and issuing credit guides where applicable.
Valuation Management: Ordering and managing valuation reports to ensure property security meets lending criteria.
Reporting & Title Searches: Generating comprehensive credit reports and completing necessary title searches.
Progress Draw Management: Overseeing the management of progress draws for construction or staged funding.
KYC Compliance: Completing Know Your Customer (KYC) verifications using tools such as IDyou or IDkit.
Documentation & Signatures: Completing all required application forms and coordinating the sending of documents for digital signatures.
Financial Calculations: Completing funding tables and servicing calculators to determine borrower capacity.
Credit Proposal Drafting: Drafting detailed credit proposals for formal credit assessment.
Credit Assessment: Assessing applications prior to submission to the senior credit analyst for final review.
Policy Compliance: Reviewing credit limits in line with specific internal policies and procedures.
Approval Recommendations: Recommending applications for approval or decline based on risk analysis.
Underwriter Liaison: Dealing with underwriter Mortgage Information Requests (MIR) and resolving technical queries.
Outcome Notification: Issuing formal approval or decline letters to relevant parties.
Settlement Support: Assisting with a wide range of pre-settlement and post-settlement enquiries.

Requirements
3–4 years of direct experience in Australian mortgage lending (lender-side experience is essential; broker-side only will not be considered).
Proven ability to handle the end-to-end loan process with minimal supervision.
Deep understanding of Australian credit policies and lending benchmarks.
Advanced analytical, mathematical, and comprehension skills.
Ability to manage competing deadlines effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies in complex financial data.
Strong communication skills for interacting with underwriters and internal stakeholders.

Software Proficiency

Consistent and methodical – A disciplined approach to following processes and procedures.
Persistence – Dedication to seeing complex applications through to completion and resolving MIRs.
Team orientated – A collaborative mindset focused on supporting lenders and the wider credit team.
