JOB BRIEF
As a Broker BDR, you will be the first point of contact for prospective freight broker accounts. Your primary focus is outbound prospecting — identifying brokers who would benefit from posting loads on 123Loadboard, generating interest, and qualifying opportunities before handing them off to a closing rep or advancing them yourself. JOB DUTIES
• Execute high-volume outbound prospecting via cold calls,
• Qualify inbound and outbound leads against defined criteria (load volume, brokerage size, current load board usage) before passing to Account Executives.
• Research target accounts using ZoomInfo, FMCSA data, and LinkedIn to build accurate contact lists of decision-makers at freight brokerages.
• Conduct discovery calls to understand broker pain points around carrier sourcing, load coverage, and empty mile costs.
• Schedule and coordinate product demonstrations or intro calls between qualified prospects and the broader sales team.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prospecting activity, lead status, and pipeline notes in Salesforce.
• Participate in industry events, webinars, and trade shows (e.g., TIA) to source new leads and represent the 123Loadboard brand.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Meet or exceed monthly quotas for qualified opportunities created and meetings booked.
• Build and maintain a healthy top-of-funnel pipeline that consistently feeds the Account Executive team.
• Become fluent in 123Loadboard's value proposition for brokers — including competitive differentiation from DAT and Truckstop — to handle objections confidently.
• Collaborate with marketing on messaging, campaigns, and target account lists to ensure outbound efforts are aligned with broader go-to-market strategy.
• Provide feedback to sales leadership on common objections, market trends, and prospect sentiment to sharpen positioning and targeting.
• Stay current on freight market conditions, brokerage industry news, and competitor activity.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• 1–3 years of experience in an outbound sales, BDR, or SDR role — ideally in freight, logistics, or SaaS.
• Familiarity with the freight brokerage industry — understanding of how brokers source carriers, manage load boards, and operate day-to-day is a strong asset.
