Background
I'm a dating and love coach with 24 years of experience helping women build self-respecting, fulfilling relationships. I'm building my YouTube channel, The Uncompromising Woman, and I'm looking for one creative, dependable editor to grow with the channel long-term.
This is a senior-level role. I'm looking for an experienced editor who's done this professionally and can deliver polished, scroll-stopping work without hand-holding. If you do great work, this is a stable, ongoing role with room to expand as the channel grows.
Job Description
You'll edit 3 long-form YouTube videos per week (most 10–15 minutes, some up to 30) and design the thumbnails for each. Modern, eye-catching, scroll-stopping style — the kind of editing that wins in 2026 YouTube.
Detailed Responsibilities
1. Edit 3 talking-head videos per week with dynamic pacing, b-roll, on-screen text, motion graphics, and sound design
2. Design a scroll-stopping thumbnail for each video
3. Add captions and configure each video for upload (chapters, end screens, descriptions in YouTube Studio)
4. Deliver each finished video within 48–72 hours of receiving the raw footage (thumbnail included in that window)
5. Send a short progress update at the start and end of each video, so I always know where things stand
Experience Required
This is a senior role, and the experience requirement reflects that:
- 3–5 years of professional video editing experience preferred (a 2-year editor with a killer portfolio is welcome to apply — the work matters more than the years)
- At least 1–2 years editing content for YouTube specifically. YouTube editing is its own craft — hooks, pacing, retention, captions, thumbnail psychology — and I'm looking for someone who already understands it
- If you've edited for established YouTube channels, please name them and link the videos. I'll watch the work.
Required Technical Skills
1. Adobe Premiere Pro — expert level
2. Adobe Photoshop — strong enough to design thumbnails that compete with top YouTube creators
3. Fluent written and spoken English — you'll be editing English-language content, and we'll communicate regularly
Soft Skills
- Fast and reliable — consistently hits deadlines without sacrificing quality
- Strong creative eye and aware of current YouTube editing/thumbnail trends
- Communicates proactively — tells me right away if something is unclear or running late
- Takes creative direction well and iterates without ego
- Maintains a consistent visual style across videos so the channel has a recognizable look
Basic Skills
You'll need to be comfortable with the tools we'll use to work together:
- Google Drive or Dropbox for file transfers (or
- Slack, WhatsApp, or Loom for communication and feedback
- Google Docs for shared notes and scripts
Desired Technical Skills (Nice to Have)
If you have experience with any of these, please mention it — each one is a real plus:
- Descript, Canva, Envato, and YouTube Studio (SEO, chapters, end screens)
- AI tools that speed up YouTube editing: Opus Clip (Shorts repurposing), Submagic or Captions.ai (animated captions), Gling (AI rough cuts), ElevenLabs (AI voice), and Premiere's built-in AI features (Object Mask, Enhance Speech, generative tools)
- Familiarity with the dating/relationships YouTube niche (creators like Matthew Hussey, Sadia Khan, etc.)
Technical Requirements
- A computer powerful enough to handle 4K projects without slowdowns or crashes
- Stable, fast internet for large file transfers
Work Schedule
Flexible hours — work whenever you want, as long as each video is delivered within the 48–72 hour window. No required overlap with my time zone, but please be reachable on Slack/WhatsApp within 24 hours during weekdays. I observe most Filipino holidays.
