JOB OVERVIEW

About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to support the financial operations of a growing Australian business group operating across logistics, operations, and business services.

This role will be responsible for financial reporting, reconciliations, accounts management, payroll support, cash flow monitoring, and maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities.

The ideal candidate will have strong Xero experience, excellent analytical ability, and experience working with Australian accounting and compliance processes.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities
Produce weekly and monthly financial reports
Monitor company cash flow, expenses, and financial performance
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Maintain general ledgers and chart of accounts
Assist management with financial insights and operational reporting
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Manage supplier invoices, reconciliations, and payment schedules
Prepare and issue customer invoices and statements
Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up overdue payments
Reconcile customer and supplier accounts
Ensure accurate coding and allocation of transactions
Xero & System Management
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions within Xero
Perform bank reconciliations and transaction matching
Maintain payroll and employee financial records
Ensure financial data is accurate, organised, and up to date
Support integrations between operational systems and accounting platforms
Compliance & Administration
Assist with BAS preparation and end-of-month processes
Support external accountants with financial documentation
Maintain compliance records and audit-ready documentation
Assist with payroll processing and superannuation tracking
Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of financial information
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
Minimum 3+ years experience in accounting or finance roles
Strong working knowledge of Xero
Experience with Australian accounting processes preferred
Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills
Excellent analytical and reconciliation ability
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Ability to manage multiple entities and priorities independently
Preferred Experience
Experience working remotely for Australian companies
Understanding of logistics, operations, or service-based businesses
Experience with payroll, BAS support, and management reporting
Knowledge of CRM, ERP, or integrated business systems
Experience supporting growing or multi-entity businesses
