JOB OVERVIEW

Social Scousers is looking for a talented and experienced Video Editor to join our growing team. We work with clients across multiple industries, creating engaging social-first content that drives attention, engagement, and results.

We’re looking for someone who understands modern content styles, can edit high-performing reels and videos, and has a strong creative eye for pacing, storytelling, and trends across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook.

This is a part-time position with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role for the right person based on performance and results.

Responsibilities
Edit short-form content including reels, TikToks, ads, and social media videos
Create engaging, fast-paced edits optimized for social platforms
Add captions, transitions, sound design, graphics, and motion effects
Work with raw footage from multiple clients across different industries
Follow brand guidelines while bringing creative ideas to the table
Meet deadlines and manage multiple projects efficiently
Stay up to date with social media trends and viral editing styles

Requirements
Proven experience editing social media content and short-form videos
Strong portfolio showcasing reels and engaging edits
Advanced skills in software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or similar
Understanding of social media content performance and retention
Strong attention to detail and creativity
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
Reliable turnaround times and good project management skills
Bonus Skills
Motion graphics experience
Thumbnail design
Knowledge of content strategy and hooks
Experience editing paid ads or UGC content
