Property Management Accountant & Administrative Assistant
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Pacific Time, with a 30-minute break
Salary: $1,400 per month
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Property Management Accountant & Administrative Assistant with extensive hands-on experience using AppFolio, strong accounting skills, and administrative support experience. This role will primarily focus on accounting and financial responsibilities, while also assisting with property management-related administrative tasks.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and confident handling phone communication with tenants and vendors. Strong attention to detail, accuracy in financial reporting, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently are essential for success in this role. Spanish-speaking ability is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary support for accounting and financial tasks across managed properties
Manage and maintain financial records for multiple properties using AppFolio
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
Process owner distributions, tenant payments, and vendor payments
Perform bank reconciliations and monthly financial close
Prepare and review financial statements and property-level reports
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Assist with year-end reporting and audit preparation
Coordinate with property managers regarding financial issues
Communicate with tenants and vendors via phone regarding financial and account-related concerns
Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting
Qualifications:
Extensive experience using AppFolio
Strong accounting background with exposure to property management
Strong understanding of property management accounting processes
Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
Ability to manage multiple properties and financial records accurately
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable handling phone-based communication with tenants and vendors
Experience with U.S.-based property management operations
Familiarity with real estate accounting standards
Spanish-speaking ability is a plus but not required
