JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role

You will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates and tender submissions for structural steel fabrication and installation projects. You will work from drawings, specifications, builder tender packages, and client requirements to build accurate and competitive estimates.

We use Bluebeam for take-offs and estimating support, so experience with Bluebeam or similar take-off software will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Complete detailed structural steel take-offs.
- Prepare full estimates including materials, fabrication labour, welding, surface treatment, transport, cranage, installation, overheads, and margins.
- Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions, and opportunities.
- Liaise with builders, clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal tea ---------- mbers.
- Prepare professional tender submissions and pricing breakdowns.
- Support handover from estimating to drafting, fabrication, and project delivery teams.
- Maintain pricing data, supplier rates, labour allowances, and estimating systems.About You

You will have a strong background in structural steel estimating and a practical understanding of how steel is fabricated and installed.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

- Experience in structural steel estimating.
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication, welding, coatings, transport, and site installation.
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, architectural drawings, and specifications.
- Experience preparing complete project estimates, not just material take-offs.
- Experience using Bluebeam or similar take-off software.
- Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with builders, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
