We are looking for an AAT, ICB qualified bookkeeper to join our growing bookkeeping practice.
This role is a small part time with the opportunity to grow in hours.
Please note to start with the hourly range per week is expected around 3-5 hrs per week, for the first month or two.
Please do not apply if you are not a qualified bookkeeper, as we are only looking for suitably qualified AAT / ICB or equivalent for this role, with the relevant UK accounting experience.
This role will be completing the day to day bookkeeping for a number of small businesses, all based in the UK.
You must be familiar with IAS and IFRS bookkeeping standards, as all work will be required to these standards, allowing for tax / audit ready books.
This is a recurring monthly position focused on accurate transaction processing, reconciliations, and financial reporting across multiple clients.
Our current client portfolio operates primarily on Xero, and it is imperative that you are proficient and certified in Xero. We also require the ability to work across QuickBooks, as our portfolio continues to grow and diversify. You will be assigned a small number of clients to begin with, with clear expectations and deadlines provided for each.
We also have an ongoing Quickbooks project client, which would be good to get support with.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records for allocated clients
Process and categorise transactions in Xero and/or QuickBooks
Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accounts are fully reconciled
Prepare and deliver month-end reports to the lead accountant
Manage accounts payable and receivable as required
Assist with VAT return preparation and submission
Ensure all work is completed accurately and within agreed client deadlines
Liaise with the lead accountant on any queries or discrepancies
Maintain strict confidentiality across all client accounts
Essential Requirements:
Qualified UK Bookkeeper — AAT, ICB, IAB, or equivalent recognised qualification (MUST HAVE)
Proficient and certified in Xero and QuickBooks (both platforms required)
Solid understanding of UK bookkeeping standards and practices
Experience managing bookkeeping for multiple clients simultaneously
Meticulous attention to detail — accuracy is non-negotiable
Reliable, organised, and able to meet client-specific deadlines
Strong communication skills — able to liaise professionally with the lead accountant
Desirable Experience:
Experience in a UK accounting or bookkeeping practice environment
VAT return preparation and submission
Familiarity with Xero Payroll
Multi-company bookkeeping experience
Experience using Hubdoc, Dext, or similar document management tools

Significant scope to grow to 40+ hours per month by end of 2026, with the role evolving into a broader part-time position as the client portfolio expands.
