JOB OVERVIEW

About Us

Book Boys is a free book pickup service that helps people get rid of unwanted books without the hassle of lifting, packing, or driving them anywhere.

We pick up books directly from homes, schools, offices, estate cleanouts, and organizations. The goal is simple: make donating books easy, keep books out of landfills, and help them find a second life through resale, redistribution, libraries, charities, community markets, and other outlets.

We are looking for an experienced ads specialist who can help us generate more pickup requests through Google Ads and Meta Ads.

What We Need

We need someone who can build, manage, test, and improve paid ad campaigns that drive real booking requests — not just clicks, impressions, or vanity metrics.

You should understand how to advertise a local service business and how to turn ad spend into leads.

This role is not for someone who only knows how to “boost posts.” We need someone who can think strategically, track results, test creatives, improve landing page performance, and explain what is working and what is not.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

Setting up and managing Google Search Ads for people looking for book donation, book pickup, book removal, estate cleanout help, downsizing, decluttering, and related services
Setting up and managing Meta Ads on Facebook and Instagram
Creating campaign structures for different service areas
Researching keywords and negative keywords
Writing ad copy that drives action
Creating or directing basic ad creative ideas
Setting up tracking for leads, form submissions, calls, and bookings
Improving conversion rates from ad traffic
Testing audiences, creatives, landing pages, offers, and messaging
Monitoring budget and performance
Sending clear weekly reports with results, problems, and next steps
Making recommendations to improve the website or booking funnel
Required Experience

You must have experience with:

Google Ads
Meta Ads Manager
Lead generation campaigns
Local service businesses
Conversion tracking
Google Analytics or similar tracking tools
Retargeting campaigns
Campaign reporting
Basic landing page and funnel strategy

What Success Looks Like

The goal is not “more traffic.”

The goal is more qualified pickup requests.

You should be able to help us answer:

How much does each lead cost?
Which campaign is producing the best leads?
Which area is most profitable to advertise in?
Which keywords are wasting money?
Which ads are bringing in real pickup requests?
Where are people dropping off before booking?
How do we lower cost per booked pickup over time?
Important: Proof Required Before Hiring

Before being hired, you must be able to prove that you know what you are doing.

Please include the following in your application:

Examples of Google Ads or Meta Ads campaigns you have managed
The monthly ad spend you managed
The type of business you ran ads for
The cost per lead or cost per conversion you achieved
Screenshots, reports, or case studies showing real results
A short explanation of how you would advertise Book Boys
What tracking you would set up before spending money
What mistakes you would avoid in the first 30 days

Applications without proof of results will not be considered.

Test Assignment

As part of the hiring process, we may ask you to complete a short paid or unpaid strategy test.

The test may include:

Reviewing our website
Suggesting a Google Ads campaign structure
Suggesting 10–20 keywords and negative keywords
Writing 3 sample Google Search ads
Explaining how you would track bookings
Identifying what you would improve before launching ads

We are not looking for generic answers. We want to see how you think.

Ideal Candidate

The right person is:

Data-driven
Honest about what is working and what is not
Able to explain things clearly
Comfortable being judged by results
Experienced with lead generation
Proactive with ideas
Careful with ad spend
Strong at testing and improving campaigns
Not afraid to tell us when something on the website or offer needs to be fixed
How to Apply

To apply, reply with the subject line:

In your application, please answer these questions:

How many years of experience do you have with Google Ads?
How many years of experience do you have with Meta Ads?
What types of businesses have you generated leads for?
What is the best campaign result you have produced?
What is the largest monthly ad budget you have managed?
What tracking tools do you normally use?
How would you structure ads for a free book pickup service?
What would you need from us before launching?
What would your first 30 days look like?
Attach proof of previous results.

Do not send a generic application. Generic applications will be ignored.

We are open to starting part-time and increasing hours if you can prove results.
