Ecommerce & Social Media Manager

We are a U.S.-based company looking for a highly organized, creative, and growth-minded Ecommerce & Social Media Manager to support the day-to-day operations, marketing, and sales growth of our children’s book brand.

This role is ideal for someone who understands both online store operations and digital marketing. You will manage Shopify, inventory, paid ads, organic social media, email marketing, sales outreach, and event coordination. The right candidate is not only creative but also detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable tracking sales performance.

This is not just a social media posting role. You will help manage the full ecommerce and marketing engine behind a growing book brand.

What You’ll Do

You will work closely with the leadership team to manage online sales channels, create marketing campaigns, support product launches, coordinate outreach, and identify new opportunities to grow book sales.

This role requires strong execution, creativity, and follow-through. You should be comfortable handling multiple moving pieces, from Shopify inventory updates to TikTok ads, Mailchimp campaigns, bookstore outreach, and seasonal launch preparation.

Core Responsibilities
Ecommerce Management
• Manage and update the Shopify account, including product listings, inventory, sales, shipments, reconciliation, and product links
• Monitor ecommerce activity and identify opportunities to improve sales performance
• Track sales progress and prepare simple reports or updates on key metrics
• Coordinate inventory management through Acutrack
• Ensure product pages, checkout links, and sales-related assets are accurate and up to date
• Help prepare ecommerce materials for seasonal campaigns, including Halloween promotions and new book launches
Paid Advertising
• Manage TikTok Ads, including campaign creation, design, setup, testing, optimization, and performance tracking
• Manage Meta Ads for Facebook and Instagram, including ad creative, setup, targeting, optimization, and reporting
• Monitor ad performance and recommend improvements based on results
• Create simple but effective ad visuals and copy aligned with the brand voice
• Test different ad formats, audiences, and messaging to improve conversions
Organic Social Media
• Develop and post organic social media content across relevant platforms
• Create a consistent content calendar that supports sales, storytelling, events, launches, and seasonal campaigns
• Design engaging graphics, reels, short-form videos, captions, and promotional posts
• Repurpose content from book materials, events, customer feedback, seasonal themes, and campaign priorities
• Maintain a consistent brand tone and visual identity across social channels

Email
Marketing
• Develop and manage email marketing campaigns through Mailchimp
• Create newsletters, promotional emails, launch announcements, event reminders, and seasonal campaigns
• Manage email lists, segments, templates, and campaign scheduling
• Track email performance and suggest improvements to increase opens, clicks, and sales
Inbox and Customer Support
• Manage the email inbox and respond to inquiries in a timely, professional manner
• Organize messages related to orders, events, partnerships, schools, bookstores, awards, and general inquiries
• Escalate important messages or opportunities to the leadership team when needed
• Maintain clear records of follow-ups and pending items
Events, Outreach, and Partnerships
• Coordinate event appearances for book readings
• Conduct sales outreach to bookstores and track communication progress
• Conduct outreach to schools for book readings and partnership opportunities
• Help coordinate book award submissions, including deadlines, requirements, and materials
• Identify new sales channels, partnership opportunities, events, schools, libraries, bookstores, and seasonal promotional opportunities
Launch and Seasonal Campaign Support
• Prepare for the Halloween season rollout, including campaign planning, content, ads, email marketing, inventory coordination, and sales tracking
• Prepare for the new book rollout in Summer 2026
• Support launch timelines, promotional calendars, outreach lists, and campaign materials
• Coordinate the moving pieces required for successful seasonal and product launches
Required Skills
• Experience managing Shopify or another ecommerce platform
• Experience with TikTok Ads and Meta Ads
• Strong understanding of organic social media content creation
• Experience creating graphics, captions, short-form video content, and promotional materials
• Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage inventory updates, sales tracking, shipment coordination, and reconciliation
• Strong written English for customer communication, outreach, captions, and email marketing
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks without constant supervision
• Strong follow-through and comfort working with deadlines
• Ability to track outreach, campaign progress, and sales opportunities clearly
Preferred — Nice to Have
• Experience marketing books, children’s products, educational products, or consumer products
• Experience with Acutrack or similar inventory/fulfillment platforms
• Experience coordinating events, school outreach, bookstore outreach, or author appearances
• Experience preparing product launches or seasonal marketing campaigns
• Basic copywriting experience for ads, email campaigns, and social media
• Experience using Canva, CapCut, Google Sheets, Google Docs, or project management tools
• Familiarity with book awards, book promotions, schools, libraries, or bookstore partnerships
• Experience working with U.S.-based clients or companies

Who You Are

You are both creative and operational. You can design a social media post, update Shopify, check inventory, organize an outreach list, draft a bookstore email, and monitor ad performance without losing track of the details.

You are proactive, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of tasks. You do not wait to be told every next step. You notice opportunities, flag issues early, and help keep sales and marketing efforts moving forward.
