JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role

We produce documentary-style content for YouTube covering geopolitics, finance, alternative history, and current events. We're looking for a skilled motion graphics designer who can bring stories to life through compelling visuals, animations, and graphic sequences.

What You'll Do

- Create motion graphics, animated maps, data visualizations, text animations, and transition sequences for long-form YouTube documentaries (15-40 min)
- Design and animate lower thirds, title cards, chapter headers, and end screens
- Work with archival footage, stock footage, and still images to build visually engaging sequences
- Collaborate on visual storytelling — translating scripts into dynamic, cinematic visuals
- Maintain and evolve a consistent visual style across multiple channels and series
- Turn around edits quickly based on feedback

Requirements

- Strong portfolio showing motion graphics work (YouTube, documentary, or explainer content preferred)
- Proficiency in After Effects (required). Premiere Pro knowledge is a plus.
- Good eye for cinematic composition, color grading awareness, and typography
- Can work with a script and independently d ---------- how to visualize information
- Reliable internet, own equipment, available during reasonable overlap hours (GMT+7/+8 timezone preferred but not required)
- Strong English comprehension — you'll be working from English-language scripts

Nice to Have

- Experience with map animations (troop movements, geopolitical borders, trade routes)
- Ability to create 2.5D parallax effects from still images
- Familiarity with YouTube content formats, pacing, and retention strategies
- Basic illustration or icon design skills
- Cinema 4D, Blender, or any 3D software experience

To Apply

Send 2-3 *relevant* motion graphics samples you created.
Tell me your turnaround time for a typical 20-minute documentary and which tools you use daily.
