JOB OVERVIEW

WHO WE ARE
Forterra Pest Control is a family-owned pest control company based in Dallas, Texas, USA. We are small but growing (40% Y/Y) with a strong reputation - over 2,000 Google reviews with an overall 5.0-star average.

We are looking to bring core marketing skills in house and want to find a senior expert who can lead our effort to become serious about content creation (across video and written media) and generating organic lead flow. We're targeting 50% year over year organic lead growth and are excited to bring on someone who can drive our company forward to achieve that.

This person will own our Organic Growth strategy.

We want to build a long-term relationship with the right person. We will invest in your skills, pay you well, and treat you like a real partner. In return, we are looking for someone who can own this channel end-to-end and operate solo until the whole process is dialed in. At that point we can scale the team after it's proven out. This person would be expected to move into that senior manager role as the team grows.

COMPENSATION: We are willing to pay well for the right person. The ultimate compensation will reflect our view of that person's skill level and fit with this role. We are looking for a more senior role who can lead and guide, but isn't afraid to DO at the beginning to get things started.

What you'll be expected to do:
- Identify gaps in our content library that align with customers' most important questions --> written and video content
- Produce the content that will drive traffic in the new AEO / GEO world
- Create plans for YouTube content, lead the editing (outsourced or insourced depending on your skill set)
- Build lead attribution infrastructure (integration between website, GoHighLevel, and any other tools needed)
- Own GBPs across 3 locations: posts, photos, and any other optimizations necessary
- Document SOPs as we scale
- Monitor key KPIs and be able to interpret them to make strategic adjustments
- Work alone and get things off the ground so we can start building a content machine team

Must-have skills:
- 3+ years in content marketing, SEO, or digital marketing with US-based local services businesses
- Knowledge and expertise in AEO and how LLMs find businesses
- AI fluency - knows how to maximize output and loves learning new tools (e.g., Claude/GPT, ElevenLabs, Midjourney, Runway, etc.)
- GoHighLevel experience
- Impeccable written English
- Social Media - familiar enough to be able to cross-post content across key channels: IG, Facebook, Yelp
- Can interact with multiple stakeholders across the organization
- Hungry to learn
- Not afraid to jump in and execute
- Strong, reliable internet and home work set-up
- Works the night shift so it fully aligns with US work hours

Nice-to-haves:
- Familiarity with Marcus Sheridan's books / frameworks: "Endless Customers" and "They Ask You Answer"
- YouTube channel growth
- Video editing skills - or can manage a 3rd party editor

This role is NOT a good fit for:
- Generalist VAs
- Pure writers who want briefs handed to them
- SEO technicians who don't want to create content
- Anyone uncomfortable with being a team of 1 for a period of time
- Anyone who isn't sure about coming into a new role and create something
- Anyone who needs to be told what to do

In order to apply, send the following:
Subject line should read "PEST - Senior Content & AEO - [your full name]"
If your subject line doesn't say this, I will ignore your application.

In the body of your email, I want you to include:
1. Three links to content you've personally produced for a US local services business (article, video, landing page, etc.). For each one, tell me in 2-3 sentences; a) what the goal of the content was, b) what you specifically did vs others, c) what the impact of the content was, and d) what you would do differently if you could

2. Answer this question in 150 words or less: "What's the difference between content that ranks in Google and content that gets cited by LLMs?"

3. Address the following: We are currently generating ~75 leads / month from organic channels (Website, GBPs, Yelp, current customer base). We are looking for at least 50% year over year growth. In 200 words, tell me: what would you prioritize in your first 4 months, and what would you NOT do? Be opinionated. 'It depends' answers will be rejected.

4. Your DISC profile

5. Confirmation that you will work the night shift

6. Your salary expectations in USD / month

Thank you
David
