Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is ideal for a seasoned bookkeeping professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, takes ownership of complex financial records, and brings both technical depth and leadership to every engagement. The Senior Bookkeeper will serve as the subject-matter expert for QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Desktop (QBD), lead clean-up and catch-up projects, oversee systems integrations, and mentor junior staff — all while ensuring our clients receive audit-ready financials and strategic financial visibility.

Key Responsibilities & Expertise
QuickBooks Expertise (QBO & QBD)
Lead migration from QuickBooks Desktop (various versions) to QuickBooks Online
Optimize chart of accounts, classes, and system structure for scalable reporting
Advanced user of QBO Online features, including bank feeds, automation, and reporting tools
Can do Project management in QBO
Nice to have: QBO Certified (ProAdvisor)

Clean-Up & Catch-Up Specialist
Perform full-cycle clean-up of messy books (historical corrections, reclassification, reconciliation)
Resolve discrepancies in bank, credit card, AR/AP, and undeposited funds
Deliver audit-ready financials

System Integrations
Implement and manage payroll integrations (ADP, Gusto, Payroll Relief)
Integrate sales platforms (Shopify, Stripe, Square, PayPal) into QBO
Troubleshoot sync issues and recommend manual workflows when integrations create errors

Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare and review monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Ensure accurate classification of income, COGS, and expenses
Support multi-entity and class-based reporting

Process Improvement & Controls
Design and document SOPs for bookkeeping and month-end close
Improve workflows for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
Maintain strong internal controls and reconciliation processes

Leadership & Training
Train and mentor junior bookkeepers on QBO best practices
Review team output to ensure accuracy and consistency
Standardize workflows across clients using proven QBO methodologies

Client & Team Support
Communicate directly with clients to resolve open items and clarify transactions
Provide strategic recommendations to improve financial visibility
