Patient Communications, Insurance & Scheduling Specialist — Premium California Eye Care Practice
We are a respected optometry practice in Santa Monica, California, and we are growing fast. Over the next few years we are expanding significantly, and we need someone exceptional to grow with us from the start.
This is not a generic VA role. It is a long-term career opportunity for someone who takes real pride in their work, communicates beautifully in English, and wants to be part of a team that holds itself to a genuinely high standard.
About the role:
You will be the first voice our patients hear and the person who keeps our schedule full and our patients well taken care of. You will handle inbound and outbound calls, respond to patient texts and
More importantly, you will think. When you see something that could be done better, you will say so and help us fix it. When a phone shopper calls unsure whether to book, you will make them feel so welcome and confident in us that they do. When a patient has a confusing insurance question, you will walk them through it with patience and clarity.
We want someone who takes ownership of their work the way a small business owner does.
What we are looking for:
You speak and write English fluently with a neutral accent. Patients on the phone should feel immediately at ease with you. You have outstanding attention to detail, especially when it comes to patient records, insurance processing, and scheduling accuracy. You are warm but efficient. You follow through on everything. You do not need to be reminded twice.
Experience in healthcare, medical or dental offices, optometry, or insurance is a strong advantage. If you have worked in a patient-facing scheduling or billing role before, tell us about it. Prior VA or remote work experience is preferred.
We are specifically looking for someone who is growth-minded. The person who excels in this role will take on more responsibility over time, help train others, and become a key part of how this practice operates. We reward people who perform.
Compensation and schedule:
Starting pay is $5.00 USD per hour. Full-time hours required. You must be available during California business hours, Tuesdays to Saturdays. Performance bonuses are available for top performers. This is a stable, long-term role with an employer who genuinely invests in their team.
How to apply: Please send to
1. your resume.
2. a voice recording of 60 to 90 seconds introducing yourself in English. This is how we evaluate communication quality. Please do not skip this.
3. a short paragraph describing a time you improved a system or process at a previous job. What was the problem, what did you do, and what changed?
4. a screenshot of your internet speed test from speedtest.net and a brief description of your computer setup.
We review every application personally. If you are sharp, dependable, warm with patients, and ready to be part of something that is genuinely growing, we would love to hear from you.
