Position Overview
The client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Australian Tax Accountant to join their growing finance team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in preparing and lodging tax returns, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with Australian tax laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities
Prepare and lodge tax returns, BAS, and other statutory reports.
Support end-of-month and end-of-year financial reconciliations.
Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documentation.
Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
Conduct tax research to ensure compliance with legislative changes.
Liaise with the ATO and other regulatory bodies when necessary.
Provide support during internal audits and contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes.
Offer administrative and accounting assistance to the finance team as required.
Requirements
Essential (Must-Haves)
Proven working knowledge of accounting principles and tax compliance.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Xero or MYOB.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Mandarin/Chinese-speaking candidate preferred to facilitate smoother communication with the team.
Preferred (Nice-to-Haves)
Experience working within Australian-based accounting or finance firms.
