About MissFit for Executives
MissFit for Executives is a premium reverse-recruiting and career coaching firm based in the United States. We serve Director-level and above executives — leaders earning $150,000 or more who are navigating active career transitions with high stakes and real urgency.
Our founder holds an ICF Master Certified Coach (MCC) credential, the highest-level coaching certification in the world, alongside 30 years of HR and corporate leadership experience. She is also a certified member of the National Resume Writers Association (NRWA) — one of the few credentialing bodies that holds professional resume writers to a genuine standard of craft and ethics.
We are not a resume mill. We are not a volume shop. We build career narratives for people whose next move will define the next decade of their professional lives. The executives we serve are brilliant at what they do — and they deserve a resume that actually shows it.
Every document we produce is a reflection of our reputation. That matters to us deeply.
Why This Role Exists
We are growing. Our client roster has expanded, our turnaround standards are non-negotiable, and the quality of work we deliver cannot slip as we scale.
We are looking for one exceptional resume writer — someone who can join us as a professional partner, not just a vendor. Someone who understands that an executive's resume is not a list of jobs they held. It is an argument for why they are the right person for the right room.
This is a gig-based role structured around per-project delivery, with strong potential to evolve into an exclusive, long-term contract for the right person. We are not looking to cycle through writers. We are looking to find the right fit and grow together.
What You'll Do
As our Expert Resume Writer, you will be directly responsible for delivering polished, executive-caliber career documents that meet NRWA standards and our firm's internal quality benchmarks.
Specifically, you will:
Draft executive resumes from intake materials, interview notes, and LinkedIn profiles — translating raw career history into compelling, accomplishment-driven narratives
Write in first-person perspective throughout (personal pronouns only — no use of the client's proper name)
Apply ATS optimization principles, ensuring each document is keyword-rich, properly formatted, and passes common applicant tracking system filters without sacrificing readability
Quantify impact at every opportunity — leading with metrics, outcomes, and business value rather than task descriptions
Maintain strict parallelism in sentence structure and bullet formatting throughout every document
Deliver clean, executive-level design — typically two-page documents that are visually authoritative without being ornate
Adhere to Gregg's Manual of Style standards in all punctuation, capitalization, and grammar decisions
Complete revision requests within a 12-hour SLA — this is a firm, non-negotiable standard
Communicate proactively about intake questions, timeline concerns, or content ambiguities before they become problems
Accept structured feedback with professionalism and incorporate it precisely on the first revision
What We're Looking For
Non-Negotiables
Demonstrated experience writing resumes for senior professionals — Directors, VPs, C-suite executives, or equivalent
Deep familiarity with ATS optimization: keyword strategy, formatting constraints, file types, and how applicant tracking systems actually parse documents
Mastery of accomplishment-based writing — you understand the difference between "Managed a team of 12" and "Led a cross-functional team of 12 through a 9-month ERP migration that reduced processing time by 34%"
Strong command of American English — grammar, syntax, punctuation, and professional register
Comfort with Google Docs as a primary working environment
Stable, dedicated internet connection — not mobile data, not shared household bandwidth — capable of sustaining uninterrupted async work at all times
Reliable electricity and power backup (UPS, generator, or equivalent) — brownouts and outages are a reality in many areas of the Philippines, and unplanned downtime on a client deadline is not recoverable
Ability to meet a 12-hour revision SLA without exception — infrastructure failure is not an accepted reason for a missed turnaround
Strongly Preferred
Degree in English, Communications, Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or a related field
NRWA certification (CPRW or NCRW) — or a clear, immediate path toward it. This is not optional long-term. MissFit for Executives will financially support your certification once you have demonstrated consistent quality and commitment. If you are not yet certified, tell us where you are in the process.
Experience working with US-based clients or employers
Working knowledge of LinkedIn profile optimization
Background in HR, talent acquisition, or corporate recruiting — you understand what hiring managers at the executive level actually look for
Experience writing for executives in industries such as finance, technology, healthcare, operations, or consulting
Working knowledge of AI writing tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar) — you understand how to prompt effectively, how to use AI as a drafting accelerator without letting it replace your judgment, and how to edit AI output to meet a professional standard. We use AI extensively in our workflow. You must be comfortable and capable with it.
Mindset Requirements
These matter as much as your technical skills:
You take feedback as information, not as criticism
You hold yourself to a higher standard than your client expects
You ask the right questions before starting rather than guessing and revising later
You communicate delays before they happen, not after
You care about the person behind the document — not just the document itself
You learn fast. Our workflow, standards, and tools evolve. You adapt without resistance and integrate new approaches quickly.
The Ideal Candidate Is...
You are a writer who has always believed that words carry weight — that the right sentence, constructed precisely, opens doors. You do not write to fill space. You write to make something happen.
You are detail-oriented in a way that feels natural to you, not effortful. You notice when a bullet list lacks parallelism. You feel the difference between a resume that reads like a duty log and one that reads like a leadership story. That instinct is not something you learned recently — it is something you have always had, and you have sharpened it deliberately.
You are comfortable working independently. You do not need constant direction to produce excellent work, but you do welcome clear expectations — and you expect the same clarity from the people you work with. You appreciate transparency: about pay, about timelines, about what success looks like.
You are loyal. When you commit to a working relationship, you show up fully. You are not looking to cycle through freelance gigs. You are looking for a partner — a place where your skills are genuinely valued and where your growth is taken seriously.
You understand that your clients are real people in real transitions. Directors who were just laid off. VPs navigating family pressure while job-searching. Executives who built entire departments and now need someone to help them articulate that story on one page and a half. You bring empathy to that work without losing precision.
You are Filipino, most likely. You know what it means to work hard, to take pride in your output, and to maintain professional grace under pressure. You may have worked with international clients before. If so, you already know that the best working relationships are built on mutual respect — and that is exactly what we offer.
Working Arrangements
Structure: Project-based gig contract. Compensation is paid per completed resume, with rates commensurate with quality and experience. Rate details are discussed openly during the interview — we do not leave you guessing.
Hours: This is an async-friendly role. You do not need to be online during US business hours to succeed. What matters is that you meet your turnaround commitments. We work with a 12-hour SLA for revisions — meaning once a revision request is submitted, the turnaround window is 12 hours. Initial drafts are delivered on an agreed timeline established per project.
Tools We Use:
Google Docs (primary drafting and delivery environment)
Google Drive (file sharing and intake materials)
Email
AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, and others) — integrated throughout the writing and revision workflow
ATS-friendly formatting (PDF and Word delivery standards per client spec)
Volume: Initial engagement begins with a test project. Successful completion leads to ongoing project flow. For the right person, this becomes an exclusive long-term arrangement.
Time Zone: Philippines-based working hours are fully supported. Overlap with US Eastern or Pacific time is a plus but not required.
What's In It For You
We understand that you have options. Here is why this partnership is worth your time:
Mentorship from an NRWA-Certified Founder. You will work directly under a founder who is certified by the National Resume Writers Association and has 30 years of HR experience. This is not a job where you submit work into a void. You will receive structured, professional feedback that makes you better at what you do.
Company-Sponsored NRWA Certification. Once you have demonstrated consistent quality and commitment, MissFit for Executives will financially support your path to NRWA certification. This is an investment in you — and a signal of the long-term relationship we are building.
Craft that matters. Every document you write changes something real for someone real. That is not a cliché here — it is the literal product. When an executive lands their next role because of the narrative you built, that outcome is yours too.
Stable, long-term income potential. This is not a one-off freelance gig. We are looking to build, not to cycle. The right writer will move quickly into an exclusive arrangement with consistent project flow and income stability.
Flexibility that fits your life. Async work. No commute. No rigid shift requirements. You work from home, at your own pace, within agreed turnaround windows. We understand that your family matters. We structure the work to accommodate that.
Professional growth. You will deepen your expertise in executive career communications, ATS strategy, personal branding for senior leaders, and the US executive job market. These are premium, transferable skills.
Respect. We say this plainly: you will be treated as a professional partner. Not as a task executor, not as a replaceable resource — as a person whose work and judgment we trust.
How to Apply
We read every application personally. We do not use automated screening for this role. Please follow these instructions carefully — incomplete applications will not be considered.
To apply, send the following to
A brief introduction (3–5 sentences). Tell us who you are, what drew you to resume writing, and why you believe you are right for this specific role. Write it the way you would speak to a respected colleague — not a cover letter template.
A before-and-after writing sample. Submit one example that shows your actual transformation work — the raw or original version of a resume (or a realistic representation of intake-level content) alongside the polished version you produced. This is the most important part of your application. We need to see your thinking, not just your output. Anonymize as needed. A second polished sample for a Director-level or above professional is also welcome but not required.
Answer this question (100–200 words): An executive client submits their intake materials and their career history reads like a job description — responsibilities listed, no metrics, no outcomes, no story. What is your process for turning that material into an accomplishment-driven resume?
Your preferred per-resume rate or hourly rate (whichever you propose — we are open to discussing both structures).
Your availability — how many resumes per week you can realistically commit to at high quality.
Subject line for your application
Applications that do not follow these instructions will not be reviewed. We are not being rigid for the sake of it — we are filtering for writers who read carefully and follow direction precisely. That is the job.
This role is available immediately. We are actively interviewing and will move quickly with the right candidate.
We are genuinely excited to find the right person. If that is you, we look forward to hearing from you.
MissFit for Executives is committed to building long-term, respectful professional partnerships. We welcome applicants from the Philippines and are proud to work with talented professionals across the globe who bring precision, professionalism, and heart to their craft.
