JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Copy Editor to support our team of Business Writers covering personal finance and global news. This role is responsible for ensuring all published content is accurate, clear, engaging, and error-free, while maintaining a consistent editorial voice and high-quality standards.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in editing financial and news content, with the ability to quickly refine articles under tight deadlines without compromising quality.

Work Schedule
12:00 AM to 8:00 AM (Philippine Time)
Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

Edit and proofread news articles (breaking news, world news, and entertainment)
Ensure articles are grammatically correct, clear, concise, and well-structured
Fact-check key details to maintain accuracy and credibility
Improve readability by simplifying complex financial or economic language
Optimize headlines for clarity, engagement, and SEO performance
Ensure consistency in tone, style, and editorial guidelines (British formatting)
Review articles for logical flow, coherence, and overall quality
Catch errors in data, figures, names, and sources
Work closely with writers to refine content and maintain standards
Ensure all content is publication-ready within tight deadlines

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in copy editing, journalism, or digital publishing
Excellent English grammar, editing, and proofreading skills
Strong understanding of personal finance and business/news topics
Familiarity with global news and economic trends
Ability to quickly edit and polish high-volume content
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Experience working with online publishing platforms or CMS is a plus
Ability to work independently during graveyard shifts
