JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for reliable, detail-oriented Business News Writers to join our growing editorial team. This role focuses on personal finance, global markets, economic trends, and major world news events that impact money, business, and everyday consumers.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of financial topics, economic developments, and global news, and can quickly turn complex stories into clear, engaging, and actionable articles.

Work Schedule

8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Philippine Time)
Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

> Write 4 original business/news articles per day

> Cover topics such as personal finance, global economy, stock market trends, inflation, banking, investments, and major world news affecting money

> Translate complex financial and economic news into easy-to-understand, reader-friendly content

> Monitor breaking news, financial updates, global events, economic trends, and Reddit discussions for potential story ideas

> Research stories using credible financial, business, and international news sources, and Reddit

> Fact-check all information before submission to ensure accuracy and credibility

> Write clear, engaging, and well-structured articles tailored for a broad audience

> Create compelling, SEO-friendly headlines with high click-through potential

> Follow editorial guidelines and consistently meet daily deadlines

Requirements

> At least 2 years of experience in business writing, journalism, finance blogging, or digital publishing

> Strong English writing and grammar skills

> Solid understanding of personal finance (loans, savings, credit, investments, cost of living, etc.)

> Good awareness of global news, economic trends, and financial markets

> Ability to quickly identify newsworthy stories and angles that impact readers financially

> Skilled in researching and verifying information from reliable financial and news sources

> Must have an active Reddit account and be familiar with how Reddit works

> Must be comfortable using Reddit to discover news, emerging trends, discussions, and potential story ideas

> Must understand subreddits, Reddit discussions, comments, upvotes, and trending topics

> Comfortable covering breaking news and fast-moving global events

> Ability to simplify complex topics into clear, engaging content

> Able to work independently and manage daily article output

> Experience with online publishing platforms or CMS is a plus
