Overview
Sterling Insurance Brokers Ltd. is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accounting
Assistant to support our Accounting Manager / Controller.
This role focuses on executing day-to-day accounting tasks including transaction entry, accounts
receivable and payable support, processing payments, and assisting with reconciliations. You will
work under the direction of a senior accountant who will review your work.
This is an execution-focused role requiring strong attention to detail, consistency, and organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Record daily financial transactions accurately and maintain organized records.
• Track accounts receivable and assist with collections follow-ups.
• Process accounts payable and prepare payments.
• Assist with client refunds and maintain proper documentation.
• Support bank and account reconciliations and flag discrepancies.
• Organize financial data and support month-end close.
Qualifications
• 1–3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting assistant experience.
• Basic understanding of AR, AP, and reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfortable working under direction and following structured processes.
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
Nice to Have
• Experience in insurance brokerage or MGA environments.
• Familiarity with Applied Epic or similar systems.
• Experience in high-volume transaction environments.

• Up-to-date AR/AP records.
• Smooth processing of payments and refunds.
• Organized records for efficient review.
• Reduced backlog in accounting tasks.
Reporting Structure
Reports directly to the Accounting Manager / Controller.
