JOB OVERVIEW

THIS ROLE IS FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO OWN SOMETHING — NOT JUST COMPLETE TASKS.

We are Elite Trades Australia. We are a Melbourne-based trades business with 15+ licensed plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians completing real jobs across Melbourne every day. Our core speciality is heat pump installations, split system installs, and government-backed VEU energy upgrade programs.

Right now, Melbourne doesn't know who we are. That is about to change.

We are hiring a Digital Marketing Manager to build our brand from the ground up — and eventually own it completely. You will start by working closely with the business owner. Over time, as you prove yourself, this role becomes fully yours to run.

This is not a "post some content and clock out" job. We want someone who thinks, who problem-solves, who looks at our business and asks "what should we be doing that we're not?" If that's you, read on.

WHAT THIS ROLE COVERS

You will own our entire digital presence. That includes:

SOCIAL MEDIA
- Run Instagram and Facebook — strategy, content calendar,
posting, engagement, DMs, comments
- Create Reels and short-form video content from raw job footage
sent by our field team — before/afters, installs, team culture,
educational content about heat pumps and energy savings
- Think beyond just posting — study what is working in the
trades and home services space and bring those ideas to us

VIDEO EDITING
- Edit 4–6 short-form videos per week — fast-paced,
mobile-first, Reels format
- Add captions, music, motion graphics, and text overlays
- Repurpose long content into short clips across platforms
- Own the visual style of Elite Trades — we want a consistent,
professional look that makes us stand out from every other
tradie page in Melbourne

GOOGLE AND WEBSITE
- Manage and optimise our Google Business Profile — posts,
photos, Q&As, review responses, service updates
- Use Google tools (Search Console, Analytics, Trends) to
understand what people are searching for and report back to us
- Coordinate basic website updates — landing page copy,
service pages, SEO improvements — working with our web
developer or making minor edits yourself
- Monitor our online reputation across Google, Facebook,
and any directory listings

REBRANDING ELITE TRADES
- Help us define what Elite Trades looks and sounds like online
- Develop a consistent visual identity — colour palette,
tone of voice, post templates, video style
- We want to look like a premium, trustworthy, professional
business — not a random tradie with a phone camera
- Bring ideas. We are open to them.

OTHER ADVERTISING AND CHANNELS
- Research and recommend platforms we are not using yet —
TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, Houzz, hipages,
Google Local Services, etc.
- Set up and manage directory listings (hipages,
ServiceSeeking, Oneflare, True Local, Houzz)
- Monitor and report on paid ad performance
(we run Google Ads — you track spend and results weekly)
- Look for opportunities we have not thought of yet.
Bring them to us.

TOOLS AND EFFICIENCY
- Use AI tools, scheduling platforms (Later, Buffer, or
similar), Canva, and any other tools that make you
faster and better
- We expect you to know your tools and use them —
do not wait to be told what software to use
- Research competitors, study their content, and tell us
what is working in the market
- Build systems for yourself so this role scales —
templates, content banks, caption libraries,
a repeatable weekly workflow

LEADS AND BUSINESS SUPPORT
- Send review requests to customers after completed jobs
- Respond to social media enquiries and DMs
(scripts provided, but you will improve them over time)
- Build contact lists of Melbourne property managers
and strata companies for B2B outreach
- Track all marketing activity in a simple weekly
report — what was posted, what performed,
what leads came in, what needs attention

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are not looking for someone who needs to be told what to do every day.

We are looking for someone who:
- Is a strong video editor first — this skill is non-negotiable
- Understands social media as a business tool, not just content
- Is curious and self-directed — you Google things,
you test things, you figure things out
- Communicates clearly and proactively —
you update us before we have to ask
- Takes ownership — if something is not working,
you say so and suggest a fix
- Wants to grow — this role will expand as the
business grows, and so will your responsibilities and pay

You do NOT need to know the trades industry. We will teach you
everything about our business. What we cannot teach is drive,
creativity, and the ability to take ownership.

MUST HAVES

- Proven video editing portfolio — short-form,
Reels/TikTok format, captions, motion text
- Experience managing a real business social media account
- Strong written English
- Comfortable with CapCut, Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
- Available to overlap with AEST hours —
minimum 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday
- Fast internet connection and a reliable computer
- Self-starter — you do not need daily hand-holding
