About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced U.S. Enrolled Agent (EA) to support a growing U.S.-based accounting firm. This role is ideal for a tax professional with strong technical expertise in U.S. federal and state taxation who is comfortable working remotely while collaborating closely with a U.S. team.
You will play a key role in tax preparation, compliance, IRS correspondence, and client support during tax season and throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review U.S. federal and state tax returns for:
Individuals (Form 1040)
Partnerships (Form 1065)
Corporations (Form 1120 / 1120S)
Trusts and Estates (Form 1041, if applicable)
Analyze financial statements and trial balances for tax preparation
Perform tax research and document findings
Respond to IRS notices and draft professional responses
Assist with tax planning and projections
Support audit representation and IRS communications when required
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with U.S. tax laws
Communicate with U.S.-based clients and internal staff professionally and clearly
Maintain organized digital workpapers and documentation
Qualifications:
Active Enrolled Agent (EA) credential issued by the IRS
Minimum 3+ years of hands-on U.S. tax preparation experience
Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state taxation
Experience working with U.S. accounting firms (preferred)
Proficiency in U.S. tax software such as:
Lacerte
UltraTax
ProSeries
Drake
CCH (ProSystem fx)
Familiarity with QuickBooks Online/Desktop and financial reporting
Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to work during U.S. business hours
Reliable internet connection and dedicated home office setup
Preferred Experience:
Experience supporting high-volume tax seasons
Exposure to U.S. small business clients
Knowledge of bookkeeping and clean-up work
Familiarity with practice management systems (Karbon, Canopy, TaxDome, etc.)
