About us
BrightOwl Labs is a Dutch coaching company that helps coaches, consultants, and experts build and grow their businesses. We create content across Instagram (reels), YouTube (long-form videos), and Meta ads. Our team is small, focused, and growing fast.
What we're looking for
A video editor who takes full ownership of their work. Someone who delivers clean, engaging edits with minimal back-and-forth — and who gets sharper over time without needing to be micromanaged. If you take pride in your craft and want to grow with a company long-term, this is for you.
What the work looks like (for now - might be more in the future)
- ~3 short-form reels per week (Instagram, 30–90 seconds)
- 2–3 long-form videos per month (10–30 minutes, YouTube)
- Occasional short ads (Meta/Instagram, similar to reels)
We provide clear briefings: exact timestamps for cuts, plus the first and last two words of each segment. Content is in Dutch — you don't need to speak Dutch, but you'll work with Dutch auto-generated subtitles.
What we expect
- Short-form delivered within 24 hours
- Long-form delivered within 48–72 hours
- Proactive communication — ask before you start, not after
- Proactive communication — keep us posted on how long you expect tasks to take
- WhatsApp response within 4 hours during your working hours
- Task tracking via Notion
- Over time: less feedback needed as you learn our style
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of video editing experience
- Strong portfolio with both short-form and long-form work
- Available for ongoing, long-term collaboration
- Comfortable working per deliverable, not hourly
Compensation
- Short-form reels & ads: $10–30 per video
- Long-form videos: $75–100 per video
- Paid monthly via Wise
Salary provided is an indication, as we will be working per deliverable, not hourly
How to apply
Start your message with the word "OWL" (this tells us you've actually read this). Then share:
1. A link to your portfolio or recent work
2. Two short-form and one long-form example you're proud of
3. Answer this: How do you make sure an edit feels right before you deliver it?
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a paid test edit.
