I am looking for an experienced video editor to work with me on a weekly YouTube series. The videos will be short documentary-style stories that feel smart, polished, and high-quality. This is not fast, trend-based YouTube content. The goal is to create thoughtful, engaging videos that still perform well on YouTube.
The right person should understand both storytelling and how YouTube works. You should know how to build a strong episode by combining talking-to-camera footage with clips, photos, graphics, and other visuals in a smooth and clear way. Good pacing, clear storytelling, and keeping viewers interested are very important. I am looking for someone who can help create videos that feel cinematic and professional, but still easy to watch and engaging for YouTube.
You should also be comfortable finding and using outside media. This includes stock footage, archival clips, and images. You should know where to find high-quality materials and how to use content from platforms like YouTube when appropriate. A basic understanding of licensing and fair use is important. You should also be able to create clean, simple graphics, titles, and lower thirds that support the story without distracting from it.
Previous experience is required. You must share links to videos you have edited or worked on. If you do not include a portfolio or examples of your past work, your application will not be considered. It is best if you have experience with documentary-style or nonfiction content for YouTube or similar platforms. You should also be able to explain your role in each project and what you contributed.
This is an ongoing role. I am looking for someone reliable who can work about five to 20 hours per week, depending on needs. The schedule is flexible, but consistency is very important since we will be producing videos every week. Clear communication and dependability are key.
This is a great opportunity for steady, long-term work if we are a good fit. I am happy to build a strong working relationship and continue collaborating over time.
If you enjoy thoughtful storytelling, understand YouTube, and want to help build a high-quality docu-series, I would love to hear from you.
