ABOUT US
We are a growing commercial construction subcontractor based in Atlanta, Georgia. We specialize in Division 9 interior finishes including painting, flooring, doors/frames/hardware (DFH), and specialty surfaces. We bid on commercial projects throughout the Atlanta metro area and Southeast US using BuildingConnected as our primary platform. We are growing fast and need a dedicated estimator to help us win more work.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are hiring a full-time remote Construction Estimator and Bid Coordinator to own our entire estimating and proposal process. This is a high-ownership role. You will be responsible for performing accurate material takeoffs, assembling pricing, and packaging complete bid proposals that win us contracts. You will manage our bid calendar, ensure nothing is missed, and make sure every submission is competitive and professional.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Monitor our BuildingConnected bid board daily and track all due dates
- Download and review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for Division 9 scopes: painting, flooring, doors/frames/hardware, and specialty surfaces
- Solicit pricing from material suppliers and vendors
- Build complete bid estimates in Excel with full cost breakdowns (labor, material, overhead, markup)
- Prepare and package professional bid proposals ready for submission
- Submit bids on time through BuildingConnected and GC portals
- Maintain a bid log tracking all proposals, follow-up status, and win/loss outcomes
- Review addenda and scope clarifications with the owner
- Build and maintain a supplier pricing database for faster future estimates
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proficient spoken and written English — you will communicate daily with US-based general contractors, suppliers, and the company owner via
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction estimating for a US-based contractor
- Strong knowledge of Division 9 scopes: painting, flooring, doors/frames/hardware
- Ability to read and interpret US architectural drawings and CSI specifications
- Proficient in Bluebeam Revu or similar takeoff software (PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills — must build structured estimate spreadsheets from scratch
- Experience with BuildingConnected or similar bid platforms (SmartBid, iSqFt)
- Strong written English for professional communication with US contractors and vendors
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, able to manage multiple bids at once
- Reliable high-speed internet and dedicated home office
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior remote work experience for a US commercial subcontractor
- Familiarity with Southeast US construction market (Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Carolinas)
- Knowledge of RSMeans cost data
- Experience bidding tenant improvement, K-12 schools, healthcare, or government projects
COMPENSATION
- Starting salary: $400/month USD
- Salary review at 90 days — strong performers move to $600–$800/month
- Performance bonuses for bid wins, volume, and estimate accuracy
- Long-term path to $1,000+/month for top performers
