About Us
Coastal Group Inc. is a Virginia Beach–based property management company with 40+ years of
experience managing residential and commercial properties. We’re adding a Collections
Specialist to reduce delinquency timelines while maintaining the professional, relationship-
driven tone our owners and tenants expect.
The Role
You’ll be the voice of Coastal Group when a tenant has fallen behind on rent. Your job is to
make contact, build rapport, show empathy, and guide the conversation toward a payment
commitment. You’ll work from scripts, but your emotional intelligence is what determines
success.
• Place outbound calls and follow-ups to tenants with delinquent balances
• Navigate difficult conversations with empathy, professionalism, and persistence
• Document all interactions and outcomes in our property management system
• Coordinate with the management team on escalations and payment plans
• Track your collection metrics and contribute to weekly reporting
What We’re Looking For
Industry doesn’t matter. How you communicate does.
Must-haves:
• Exceptional spoken English with a clear, neutral accent — tenants must feel like they’re
speaking with a U.S.-based professional
• High emotional intelligence — you can read tone, de-escalate frustration, and hold firm
without being aggressive
• Experience in collections, accounts receivable, customer retention, or any persuasion-
based role
• Reliable internet and a quiet workspace for calls
• Available during U.S. Eastern Time business hours
Nice-to-haves:
• Property management or real estate experience
• Familiarity with Buildium, Yardi, or similar PMS
• Track record of meeting collection targets
