The Chic CFO is a fractional CFO and bookkeeping firm that helps small business owners — especially cleaning company owners — take control of their finances. We don't just categorize transactions. We deliver custom financial dashboards, clear reporting, and the kind of financial clarity that helps our clients know exactly what to pay themselves, eliminate tax surprises, and design the life they actually want.
We're a small, high-performing remote team and we're growing. We're looking for a sharp, client-facing Accounting Operations Manager to join us and take ownership of both our client relationships and our bookkeeping team's day-to-day performance.
The Role
This is not a traditional bookkeeping position. You will be the operational and client-facing backbone of The Chic CFO. You'll lead new client onboarding, serve as the primary point of contact for our clients, manage and quality-check our bookkeeping team's work, and make sure every deliverable goes out accurately and on time.
You need to be as comfortable on a client call as you are inside QuickBooks Online. You are organized, proactive, and you hold yourself and others to a high standard.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Client Relationship Management
• Lead new client onboarding calls and walk clients through our process from day one
• Serve as the primary point of contact for ongoing client communication
• Respond to client questions professionally and in a timely manner
• Build strong relationships that reduce churn and increase client satisfaction
Bookkeeping Team Oversight
• Manage and support our bookkeeping team, ensuring all work meets our quality standards
• Review completed bookkeeping work before it goes to clients
• Identify errors, inconsistencies, or missing items and ensure they are corrected
• Hold the team accountable to deadlines and deliverable timelines
• Provide feedback and direction to bookkeepers as needed
Operations & Deliverables
• Own the client deliverables calendar and ensure nothing falls through the cracks
• Monitor the status of all active client accounts on an ongoing basis
• Step in to assist with bookkeeping when workload requires it
• Support process improvement initiatives as the team grows
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves
• 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online (QBO certification is a strong plus)
• Experience in a client-facing role — you are comfortable on the phone and over video
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Experience reviewing or overseeing another person's work
• Highly organized with excellent follow-through
• Able to work US business hours (Eastern or Central time)
Nice-to-Haves
• Experience working at a bookkeeping firm, accounting agency, or fractional CFO company
• Familiarity with Dubsado, Looker Studio, Asana, or similar tools
• Experience working with service-based small businesses (cleaning companies a major plus)
• Comfortable building or reviewing financial reports and dashboards
Compensation
Compensation is based on experience and location. This role starts at approximately 30 hours per week with the potential to grow to full-time as the business scales.
