Role Summary
The Jr. Web Developer supports the design, development, and maintenance of company websites and web applications. This role focuses heavily on WordPress development while also contributing to front?end and back?end tasks using PHP, React.js, JavaScript, CSS, MySQL, and related frameworks. The ideal candidate is detail?oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast?paced e?commerce environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, update, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, and plugins.
Build responsive front?end interfaces using React.js, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, and CSS.
Implement back?end functionality using PHP and PHP frameworks (e.g., Laravel, CodeIgniter, Symfony).
Manage and optimize MySQL databases, queries, and data structures.
Troubleshoot website issues, debug code, and ensure cross?browser compatibility.
Collaborate with designers, marketers, and product teams to implement new features.
Optimize website performance, page speed, and SEO?friendly structures.
Maintain documentation for code, processes, and updates.
Support integration of APIs, third?party tools, and plugins.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong experience with WordPress (themes, plugins, custom post types).
Proficiency in PHP and familiarity with at least one PHP framework.
Solid understanding of React.js, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3.
Experience working with MySQL databases.
Ability to convert designs (Figma, PSD, XD) into functional web pages.
Understanding of responsive design and mobile?first development.
Basic knowledge of version control (Git).
Strong problem?solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
Experience with WooCommerce or other e?commerce platforms.
Familiarity with REST APIs and JSON.
Knowledge of SEO best practices for web development.
Experience with website performance optimization tools.
Exposure to CI/CD workflows or automated deployment tools.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
1–2 years of hands?on web development experience (internships and freelance work count).
Portfolio or GitHub showcasing previous projects is highly preferred.
