About Lynear Studio
- Lynear Studio is a California-based architecture and design practice located in San Jose, California. Our work is focused on residential projects in the U.S., with an emphasis on clear drawings, efficient coordination, and smooth permit application workflows.
- We are looking for a detail-oriented Architectural Designer to join our remote team. This role will mainly support architectural drafting, permit drawing production, and permit application preparation for California-based projects.
- This is a great opportunity for someone who is strong in Revit, understands how U.S. drawing sets are organized, and wants to grow with a fast-paced studio working on real permit projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
*Core Responsibilities for All Candidates:
- Produce and revise architectural drawings in Revit
- Draft plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules
- Update permit sets based on redlines and internal comments
- Organize drawing sheets, title blocks, and file structures clearly
- Help prepare permit submission packages and supporting documents
- Maintain accuracy, consistency, and clean Revit models
- Communicate clearly in English and meet deadlines reliably
- Work in U.S. imperial units (feet and inches)
*Mid-Level Candidates Should Also Be Able To:
- Produce a permit or construction drawing set with minimal supervision
- Handle redline revisions efficiently and accurately
- Coordinate with structural, civil, Title 24, or other consultants
- Assist with plan check comment responses and drawing updates
- Understand basic U.S. permit workflow and drawing standards
*Senior-Level Candidates Should Also Be Able To:
- Lead drawing production from design development through permit
- Coordinate directly with consultants and support city comment responses
- Review and QC work prepared by junior tea
- Help maintain office drawing standards, templates, and workflows
- Work more independently and proactively identify issues before they become problems
What We’re Looking For
Strong Revit proficiency - this is required
- Degree in Architecture or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of architectural drafting and drawing organization
- Experience preparing U.S. permit sets or construction documents
- Strong attention to detail and file organization
- Good written and verbal English communication
- Reliable, responsive, and able to work independently
- U.S. experience is a strong plus
- Experience with AutoCAD, or Bluebeam is a plus
- Familiarity with California residential permit work is a plus
