JOB OVERVIEW

Hiring: Senior Accountant - Short-Term Rentals

We’re hiring a full-time Senior Accountant with deep, hands-on experience in short-term rental accounting (Airbnb, VRBO).

Key Responsibilities:
• Reconcile Airbnb & VRBO payouts to PMS and bank deposits (Stripe/PayPal)
• Record and audit gross bookings, host fees, cleaning fees, and platform commissions
• Handle deferred revenue, accruals, and revenue recognition per stay period
• Manage owner statements, payouts, and trust/liability accounts
• Perform monthly close, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Track and reconcile occupancy taxes, remittances, and platform-collected taxes
• Maintain clean chart of accounts aligned with STR operations
• Support financial reporting and property-level profitability analysis

Requirements:
• Proven experience in short-term rental / property management accounting (Airbnb, VRBO required)
• Strong proficiency in Sage Intacct or QuickBooks Online
• Experience with PMS systems (Guesty, Hostaway, AppFolio, etc.)
• Solid understanding of multi-entity, trust accounting, and OTA integrations
• Advanced Excel skills (recs, tie-outs, large data sets)

Schedule: Full-time, PST hours
