About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical design efforts across EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. This role is responsible for developing high-quality, buildable designs and supporting projects from concept through construction.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient, compliant, and cost-effective mechanical systems for industrial and infrastructure projects.
You will report under CorePoint Industries’ Engineering Manager.
What You’ll Do
Lead mechanical design of equipment layouts, piping systems, and structural interfaces
Develop, review, and approve 3D CAD models and 2D fabrication drawings
Own engineering deliverables including BOMs, specifications, and datasheets
Ensure designs meet ASME, ANSI, and project-specific standards
Coordinate with process, structural, and electrical teams
Review vendor drawings and ensure alignment with project requirements
Interface with fabricators and vendors to ensure manufacturability
Identify design risks and implement solutions
Support procurement and construction teams with technical guidance
Participate in design reviews and value engineering efforts
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of mechanical design experience in EPC or industrial environments
Strong CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar)
Experience with piping layouts and industrial systems
Knowledge of ASME, ANSI, and industry standards
Experience producing fabrication drawings
Ability to work in a hybrid environment
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Nice to Have
Experience with Plant 3D, CADWorx, or SmartPlant
Industry experience (oil & gas, chemical, power, etc.)
Mentorship experience
FEA or engineering analysis experience
Work Environment
Hybrid (office and remote)
Core business hours required
Occasional travel may be required
