JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role:

I’m a full-time travel, adventure, and music content creator looking for a highly skilled and creative editor who can edit my content across YouTube and short-form platforms.

The primary focus is high-quality long-form YouTube videos, with additional support for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels. This role goes beyond basic editing — I’m looking for someone who understands storytelling, pacing, and audience retention, and can actively contribute ideas to improve content performance. Also who can grow with me over time creatively and financially. Must be able to handle a lot of Gigabytes and high bit rate files. A modern/strong computer will be required.

Key Responsibilities:
• Edit long-form YouTube videos (8–20+ minutes) with strong storytelling, pacing, and retention-focused structure
• Create short-form content (10–60 seconds) optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
• Add engaging elements: subtitles, sound effects, music, ---------- s, transitions, and visual effects
• Collaborate on content ideas, video concepts, and strategy to improve growth and engagement
• Design high quality thumbnails for YouTube
• Create supporting content: teaser clips, story posts, promotional visuals
• Organize and manage footage efficiently (naming, sorting, versioning)
• Maintain consistent communication and quick turnaround times

What I’m Looking For:
• Strong experience editing YouTube content (REQUIRED)
• Understanding of YouTube retention, hooks, pacing, and storytelling
• Ability to match editing style to travel/adventure + personality-driven content
• Skilled in short-form editing with an understanding of what performs on TikTok/Reels/Youtube Shorts
• Experience with thumbnails
• Creative thinker — not just an editor, but someone who can bring ideas and improvements
• Reliable, communicative, and detail-oriented

Requirements:
• MUST HAVE A FAST WORKING COMPUTER (able to handle MULTIPLE gbs and high bit rate files...older computers will crash)
• Experience with DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro (or other non-demo versions of high quality editing apps)
• Strong experience editing long-form YouTube content
• Ability to create engaging short-form videos
• Color grading
• Experience creating thumbnails
• Good communication and reliability
• Must have a portfolio (even if small/required to apply)
• Create one Youtube Video a week
• Create 1-2 short form videos a day
• Create short video/pictures for promotion
• Willing to grow with the creator

Bonus Skills (Big Advantage):
• Experience working with travel or IRL creators
• Knowledge of YouTube analytics and performance optimization
• Basic motion graphics or animation
• Color grading and audio balancing
• Understanding of viral trends and platform algorithms (especially the USA style content)
