3) You'll polish digital replicas of real hardware instruments (synthesizers and DJ controllers) using our browser-based editor. Controls are already placed for you. Your job is to make them look right: aligned, evenly spaced, correctly labeled, matching the visual rhythm of the actual hardware. Layout QA + polish - the rough draft is in the editor, you bring it to production quality. Knowing Figma is a plus!
No instructions from us. All we want you to do is be accurate, precise, patient, communicative, and creative. This is the most important aspect of the interview. Make a GREAT first design using our editor!
What you'll do:
- Open a panel in our editor (controls pre-placed)
- Align controls into rows/columns/groups, distribute spacing evenly
- Adjust label text, position, visibility
- Fix visual drift, overlap, misalignment
- Submit for review when production-ready
Tools: Align (6-way), Distribute, Group, Label properties, snap grid, shortcuts, undo/redo. If you know Figma, productive in 15 min.
Who you are: Visual eye for 2px drift, patient polish work across 50-100 controls, Figma-proficient (editor is similar but not exactly like Figma), no technical background needed.
