ROLE SUMMARY-
We are hiring two video editors to support a high-volume short-form and long-form content operation across three separate law firms all owned by the same Attorney, Scott Edgett. The raw material for this role is daily video footage recorded by our Owners Scott & Mallory Edgett and Attorneys Michael Hawk and Amanda White. This is a production-focused role with daily output expectations. You are expected to work efficiently, communicate proactively, and take creative initiative within the brand guidelines provided. The Social Media Manager will assign work, and the quality bar is set high from day one.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES-
Video Production and Editing:
• Edit raw attorney video footage into short-form clips (30 to 90 seconds) optimized for Reels, Shorts, and TikTok.
• Use Opus Clip or manual clipping techniques to identify the strongest segments of raw footage.
• Apply auto-captions via CapCut and manually verify accuracy before delivery.
• Add firm-specific branded intros, outros, lower-thirds, and overlays to every video.
• Select and apply appropriate royalty-free background music or sound effects where appropriate.
• Apply color correction and basic audio cleanup to ensure all content looks and sounds professional.
• Create thumbnails, text overlays, carousel graphics, quote cards, brand consistency across all three law firms.
• Assist Social Media Marketing Manager with writing captions, hooks, video titles, hashtag packages, video descriptions.
• Assist if needed with uploading into social media scheduler.
Platform Formatting and Delivery:
• Export videos in platform-specific formats: 9:16 vertical for Reels, Shorts, and TikTok; 16:9 or 1:1 for
• Maintain maximum file quality while keeping file sizes compatible with direct upload requirements.
• Deliver completed edits through the shared content tracker with proper file naming conventions.
• After 90 days, produce a minimum of 8 to 12 completed, approved short-form videos per day per editor, in final form ready to be published by other member of social media marketing team.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Review the content brief and topic notes provided by the Social Media Manager before beginning any edit.
• Submit completed edits for review by the designated deadline in the daily workflow.
• Respond to revision notes promptly and with a professional, solutions-oriented attitude.
• Flag any footage quality issues (poor lighting, audio problems) to the Social Media Manager immediately.
• Contribute to template development and creative improvements on a monthly basis.
AI Tool Utilization:
• Use Opus Clip to automate initial clip selection and score segments for engagement potential.
• Leverage HeyGen, Veo 3, Synthesia, etc. for AI avatar or voiceover applications where approved by management.
• Apply CapCut auto-caption tools and review for 100?curacy before final delivery.
• Stay current with AI editing tool updates and report useful new features to the Social Media Manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS-
• Minimum 2 years of professional video editing experience, ideally for social media or digital marketing for US based business or law firm.
• Proficiency in CapCut is required; experience with DaVinci Resolve and Descript is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Opus Clip or similar AI clipping tools.
• Strong understanding of short-form video best practices, hooks, pacing, and caption styling.
• Fluency in written English sufficient to verify caption accuracy and read content briefs.
• Ability to maintain consistent output volume without sacrificing quality.
• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and a high standard for finished work.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS-
• Experience editing legal, medical, or professional services content for a U.S. audience.
• Familiarity with YouTube long-form production and chapter structuring.
• Experience editing podcast video content.
• Portfolio demonstrating any law firm, B2C professional services, or personal injury or criminal defense content.
