Job Overview
We're hiring a Creative Operations Manager for a fast-growing DTC e-commerce company selling supplements and beauty products in the African market, currently doing $2M a year with a goal of hitting $10M. This is not a purely operational role. You'll be running the day-to-day of two creative teams while also getting hands-on with the creative strategists to help them produce better, higher-converting ads. If you've worked in paid media, know what makes a winning ad, and have the discipline to keep a creative team running smoothly without being micromanaged, this role is built for you.
Responsibilities?
Oversee the day-to-day operations of two creative teams, each consisting of a creative strategist, video editor, and media buyer.
Work closely with creative strategists to develop better ad angles, hooks, and concepts based on performance data and market research. Monitor weekly ad performance metrics including hook rate, CTR, CPL, hold rate, and CVR, and use that data to guide the team on what to improve.
Build, document, and continuously refine SOPs and workflows to keep the creative production process running without bottlenecks.
Run weekly tea
Hold each tea
Create and implement performance improvement plans for underperforming tea
Identify bottlenecks in the creative workflow and fix them before they become bigger problems.
Evaluate new AI tools and stay on top of what's working in paid media to keep the team's output competitive.
Report performance and strategic recommendations to the owners, and handle day-to-day problems independently without escalating unless it's a decision above your authority.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in a creative operations, project management, or creative strategy role within a DTC paid media environment.
Strong understanding of paid media ad structure including hooks, CTAs, body copy, and how to evaluate what makes an ad work.
Experience managing and coaching creative teams including video editors, graphic designers, and creative strategists. Knows how to read and act on ad performance data, hook rate, CTR, CPL, hold rate, CVR, and ROAS.
Proven experience building SOPs and workflows from scratch and improving existing ones.
Experience conducting performance reviews and creating performance improvement plans.
Familiar with sprint planning and agile-style workflows for managing creative output.
Hands-on experience with project management tools like Asana, ClickUp, or similar.
Comfortable running multiple video calls per week and communicating primarily through calls and chat.
Self-directed and able to handle problems independently without needing to escalate everything to the owners.
Experience working with teams across different time zones and nationalities.
Nice to Have (Not Required)
Experience running ads specifically for African markets such as Kenya or Tanzania.
Background in video editing or creative strategy before moving into operations.
Familiarity with ad performance tools like Motion or Atria.
Experience with influencer or UGC marketing workflows.
Familiarity with health, wellness, or beauty DTC brands.
