We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Shopify Developer to join our team long-term. You will be the lead developer responsible for building the digital storefronts from scratch for two brand-new physical products: Stubble Suede (a men's grooming product) and Rivrstone (a shower stone).
This role requires someone who can take a project from concept to launch and then transition into ongoing maintenance and aggressive conversion rate optimization (CRO). If you understand how to build pages that don’t just look good but actually convert, and you have the bandwidth to dive into exciting new brand launches, this role is for you.
(Note: We are looking to hire an independent freelancer to integrate into our team, not an agency).
Key Responsibilities:
New Store Development: Build out complete, highly optimized Shopify sites from the ground up for our two new DTC product lines.
Ongoing CRO & Split Testing: Once launched, rapidly develop, test, and iterate different landing pages, offers, and funnels to consistently improve conversion rates.
Performance Optimization: Ensure all pages are lightning-fast, fully responsive, and optimized for mobile traffic (mobile-first design is critical).
App Integration: Install, configure, and troubleshoot third-party Shopify apps and tracking pixels essential for marketing and analytics.
Collaboration: Work directly with the marketing side of the business to bring wireframes, copy, and creative assets to life.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Proven experience building and customizing Shopify themes (Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Strong experience with popular Shopify page builders (e.g., Replo, PageFly, Shogun, or GemPages).
A solid understanding of e-commerce Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) best practices.
Experience setting up A/B tests, split testing landing pages, and utilizing heatmapping tools.
Fierce attention to detail, specifically regarding mobile responsiveness and page speed metrics.
Excellent English communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal micromanagement.
Why Work With Us?
Ground-Floor Opportunity: You will be launching two brand-new products, giving you a major voice in how these sites are built, structured, and scaled.
Long-Term Stability: This is not a one-off build. We are looking for someone to grow with us to maintain and optimize the sites as the brands scale.
Flexible Working Environment: We care about results, fast iteration, and meeting deadlines, not tracking your mouse movements.
How to Apply (Please Read Carefully):
To ensure you have read this entire post and are detail-oriented, please include the word "Launch" at the very beginning of your subject line or proposal message.
Please apply with the following:
Your Resume: An updated copy highlighting your Shopify experience.
Your Portfolio: Please provide links to only your top 2 or 3 best live Shopify stores or landing pages you have built. (Next to each link, you MUST write one sentence explaining exactly what your role was on that build—did you design it, code it, or both?)
Upwork / LinkedIn Profile: We highly value past client feedback. Please provide a link to your Upwork profile so we can read your reviews. (If you do not use Upwork, please provide your LinkedIn profile).
Screening Question: In 2 to 3 sentences, tell us what you believe is the #1 most common mistake brands make that hurts their mobile checkout conversion rates.
Logistics: What are your expected working hours/timezone availability, and what is your expected monthly (or hourly) salary?
[Highly Recommended] Loom Video: Record a quick 1-to-2 minute Loom video introducing yourself, sharing your screen, and walking us through one of the landing pages you built. Tell us why you designed it the way you did. (Applicants who include this will be moved to the top of our interview list).
