JOB OVERVIEW

Private Online Psychiatric Mental Health Tutor (Doctor or equivalent)

Nonprofit Educational Initiative

About This Opportunity

This opportunity is part of a nonprofit educational mission focused on supporting learning and development in the field of mental health. The goal is to help equip individuals with strong foundational knowledge in psychiatric mental health, especially for future service, education, and mission driven work.

By participating, you will be contributing to a meaningful initiative that aims to expand understanding and access to mental health education.

Role Overview

We are looking for a licensed doctor, preferably a psychiatrist, or another highly qualified licensed mental health professional based in the Philippines to provide private one on one online tutoring in psychiatric mental health.

This is a paid education project. It is not a clinical role, not for patient care, not for independent practice, and not a substitute for formal school, certification, or licensure.

The purpose of this role is to deliver structured, high quality education in the core areas of psychiatric mental health knowledge.

About the Student

The student has a healthcare background, strong CDI and clinical documentation experience, and a strong ability to learn quickly. She already understands medical documentation and clinical workflows, but now wants to build deeper knowledge in psychiatric mental health.

She works full time, so the program must be:

• practical
• organized
• efficient
• flexible

What We Are Looking For

We are not looking for casual tutoring. We are looking for someone who can:

• mentor and guide the student in a structured way
• design a clear learning pathway from start to finish
• build a condensed, goal oriented program
• help bridge clinical documentation knowledge into psychiatric thinking

Your role is to equip and develop the student’s understanding in a serious and structured way, similar to a mentor or preceptor style relationship, but strictly for education only.

You should be able to take someone with a strong documentation background and help her understand how mental health professionals:

• assess patients
• think through symptoms
• form diagnoses
• choose treatment approaches
• understand medication logic
• document psychiatric encounters
• plan ongoing care

Program Expectations

The program should be structured and intentional, not random sessions.

We are especially interested in applicants who can propose a clear and realistic learning plan explaining:

• how you would take the student from point A to point Z
• how you would structure the learning, such as weekly sessions, modules, exercises, or guided case discussions
• how you would pace the program for someone working full time
• what outcomes the student should achieve by the end

We expect approximately one session per week, although you may recommend the structure you believe is best.

Ideally, we hope the program can be taught in a boot camp style format, with the goal of bringing the student to a strong crash course level of psychiatric mental health knowledge in about 12 weeks or less, if realistic. We are open to your professional judgment on how best to structure this.

Core Topics to Cover

The program should build strong knowledge in areas such as:

• psychiatric assessment
• psychiatric interviewing
• mental status examination
• DSM based diagnosis
• differential diagnosis
• psychopharmacology
• medication selection and reasoning for learning purposes only
• treatment planning
• care planning
• psychiatric documentation, including SOAP style notes
• case based discussion
• clinical reasoning
• safety and risk assessment
• crisis awareness and escalation thinking
• basic psychotherapy concepts
• patient education
• follow up thinking and longitudinal care planning

We are also especially interested in candidates who can teach the core foundation often associated with advanced psychiatric training, including the 3 Ps:

• advanced pathophysiology
• advanced pharmacology
• advanced health assessment

The overall goal is to help the student build the type of psychiatric mental health knowledge commonly developed in PMHNP style training, while fully understanding that this tutoring program is for education only.

End Goal

By the end of the program, the student should have a strong educational foundation in how psychiatric mental health professionals think and approach:

• assessment
• diagnosis
• treatment options
• medication reasoning
• documentation
• care planning

This is about developing clinical thinking and understanding, not simply memorizing information.

Important Clarification

This program is strictly for education and knowledge building only.

It does not replace formal PMHNP education, certification, or licensure. The student is not seeking to practice based on this program alone.

Who This Is Best For

We are looking for:

• licensed doctor preferred
• psychiatrist strongly preferred
• other licensed mental health professionals with strong psychiatric experience may be considered

Ideal candidates will be:

• experienced in psychiatric or mental health care
• able to teach clearly in English
• comfortable with one on one online teaching
• organized, reliable, and professional
• experienced in teaching, mentoring, tutoring, precepting, or curriculum building
• able to design a structured learning program

A practicing doctor in the Philippines who wants flexible remote teaching work may be a strong fit.

Program Setup

• fully remote and online
• private one on one format
• flexible schedule
• approximately one session per week, or as proposed
• short term, structured program preferred
• Zoom based sessions are acceptable

Budget

• total budget: PHP 35,000 for the full program

Application Requirements

To apply, please send to:

----------

• your CV or resume
• your professional background
• your license and credentials
• your psychiatric or mental health experience
• any teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or precepting experience
• a short introduction video of 3 minutes or less introducing yourself, your experience, and your teaching style
• a brief proposal explaining:
?• how you would structure the program
?• how you would take the student from a clinical documentation background to strong psychiatric mental health knowledge
?• what your teaching approach would be
?• what outcomes you expect by the end
• your availability for an interview

Final Note

This is a unique opportunity to combine professional expertise with meaningful educational impact. As part of this nonprofit initiative, your contribution helps support mental health education and future service in this field.

We are looking for someone who takes teaching seriously and is willing to guide the student with clarity, structure, and purpose.
