Brand vibe:
Example #1:
Example #2:
Example #3:
Tone: Smart, honest, a little sarcastic. Never preachy. Think Ali Wong meets Brené Brown — real talk with real stakes.
Audience: Black millennial women juggling entrepreneurship, motherhood, and staying sane. They're tired of being talked down to.
Format: Short Form — 15 to 45 seconds. Tight, punchy, high-retention.
Visual style
Captions: Auto-captions styled clean — readable, not cluttered. Sentence case. No all-caps.
Hooks: Text overlay in first 2–3 seconds. Hints at the outcome without giving it away. Creates curiosity before the scroll.
Pacing: Tight cuts. Remove dead air. Keep energy up without feeling rushed.
Text overlays: Aesthetic yet used sparingly for emphasis — not on every sentence. Let the speaking do the work.
Music: Low and ambient underneath. Never competes with voice. Trending audio when appropriate.
What to avoid
- Coach-y or corporate energy — this is a real person, not a course funnel
- Cheesy stock transitions or effects that feel dated
- Cluttered text overlays competing with the speaker
- Generic music that doesn't match the mood
When in doubt, ask: does this feel like something a smart, busy, slightly chaotic millennial mom would actually stop and watch? If yes — ship it.
