Dental Insurance AR Specialist (Virtual Assistant)

Company: Hamblin Family Dentistry
Location: Remote (Philippines)
Hours: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience

Hamblin Family Dentistry is a modern, rapidly growing dental practice in Houston, Texas looking for a highly experienced Dental Insurance Accounts Receivable Virtual Assistant.

This role is responsible for managing insurance aging, reviewing patient accounts, and ensuring insurance and patient balances are collected accurately and promptly.

We are looking for someone who already understands dental AR workflows and can work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage Dental Insurance Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Understand how to read and manage patient accounts and balances
• Identify and true up credits in Open Dental
• Understand insurance claims processing and claim lifecycle
• Follow up on unpaid claims in 30 / 60 / 90+ day aging reports
• Contact insurance companies to check claim status and resolve delays
• Submit corrected claims, attachments, or narratives when needed
• Appeal denied claims
• Send patient billing statements
• Follow up with patients regarding outstanding balances
• Communicate with patients professionally to collect payments
• Maintain accurate patient ledgers and account notes
• Provide AR updates and reporting to the office team

Required Experience

Applicants must have dental billing experience.

Experience with:

• Dental insurance AR follow up
• PPO dental plans
• Reading EOBs and understanding payments
• Aging reports
• Patient billing and collections
• Insurance claim appeals

Software Experience Preferred

• Open Dental (strongly preferred)
• Dental clearinghouses
• Practice management software
• Slack
• Google Sheets or Excel

Communication Requirements

Because this role may involve communication with patients and insurance companies, applicants must:

• Have excellent English communication skills
• Speak clearly without a heavy accent
• Be comfortable speaking professionally with patients if needed
