JOB ADVERTISEMENT – CIVIL ENGINEER (REMOTE)

FingerHug, a company based in Bosnia and Herzegovina specializing in architectural design, technical development, construction planning, and project support, is expanding its team and is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer for a remote position.

We are looking for a highly skilled, responsible, and self-driven professional with strong practical and technical knowledge of construction, especially from an execution and contractor’s perspective. The ideal candidate should be able to contribute to the technical planning, assessment, and development of projects with a clear understanding of structures, quantities, materials, and real construction requirements.

Requirements and qualifications:
• minimum 10 years of experience in the same or similar roles
• strong professional background in civil engineering and construction execution
• solid knowledge of structural systems, construction methods, and building materials
• proven experience in preparing bills of quantities, quantity take-offs, and material assessments
• ability to accurately calculate required quantities of key construction materials, including concrete, reinforcement steel, and other structural elements
• strong understanding of contractor-side processes, site logic, and construction planning
• ability to read, review, and interpret technical drawings, construction details, and project documentation
• proficiency in relevant engineering software; knowledge of AutoCAD and similar technical tools is expected
• strong computer skills
• active command of the English language, both written and spoken
• strong organizational and communication skills
• independence, responsibility, and a professional approach to work
• ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a remote environment

Key responsibilities:
• reviewing and analyzing technical and construction documentation
• preparing and verifying bills of quantities and material take-offs
• supporting the technical evaluation of structural and construction solutions
• contributing practical construction knowledge from an execution perspective
• collaborating with the team to ensure technically sound, realistic, and efficient project solutions
• helping align technical planning with execution realities, project requirements, and applicable standards
• staying up to date with current construction practices, standards, and regulations
