JOB OVERVIEW

I am currently looking for a reliable and talented YouTube video editor to help with my content on an on-call / as-needed basis.

This is a long-term position, but it is not full-time and hours are not guaranteed every week. Work will be assigned only when new videos are ready. This is a great fit for someone who already has ongoing clients and is looking to add another steady client with clear expectations and long-term potential.

I create educational and informational YouTube content, and I need an editor who understands how to make videos more engaging, more polished, and easier to watch without making them feel over-edited or distracting.

Type of Content
You will mainly be editing:

Talking-head YouTube videos
Educational, business, and informational content
Videos that need strong pacing, clarity, and professional presentation

The editing style should feel clean, modern, and engaging. I am not looking for excessive effects or overly flashy edits. The goal is to improve viewer experience and retention while keeping the content professional.

Your Responsibilities

Video Editing

Remove mistakes, pauses, filler words, and unnecessary sections
Tighten pacing to improve watch time and retention
Add clean cuts, zooms, light transitions, and simple motion effects
Add background music when appropriate
Add text, visual callouts, or simple graphics when needed
Follow editing instructions and keep a consistent style
Complete assigned projects on time

Thumbnail Design

Create professional and attention-grabbing YouTube thumbnails
Use strong contrast, bold layouts, and readable text
Make thumbnails optimized for both desktop and mobile
Keep designs clean and in line with the brand style

Ideal Applicant

Minimum 2 years of YouTube editing experience
Understands YouTube retention and pacing
Has edited talking-head or educational videos before
Can create strong thumbnails that improve click-through rate
Good English comprehension
Communicates well and responds in a timely manner
Detail-oriented and able to follow directions
Open to feedback and willing to make improvements
Can work independently and stay organized

Technical Requirements

Reliable internet connection
Quiet home-based workspace
Computer or laptop capable of handling video editing smoothly
Willing to use TimeProof for tracking time worked

Position Details

Pay: $3 USD per hour
Schedule: On-call / as needed
Hours: Vary depending on how many videos are being produced
