JOB OVERVIEW

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Pre-Press / Artwork Technician to prepare vehicle graphics and large format designs for print. This role focuses on converting approved designs into accurate, print-ready files, ensuring all artwork meets production standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Adobe Illustrator, with a solid understanding of pre-press processes, cut paths, scaling, and large format printing.

Key Responsibilities
1. Artwork Preparation
Convert approved designs into print-ready files
Accurately place designs onto vehicle outlines/templates
Ensure correct sizing, scaling, and positioning
2. Cut Paths & Print Setup
Create clean and accurate cut lines (cut paths)
Add bleed, margins, and safe zones where required
Prepare files for large format printing (vehicle wraps, signage, etc.)
3. File Management
Organise and export files in correct formats (AI, PDF, EPS, etc.)
Ensure files are structured and labelled correctly for production
Maintain consistency across all artwork files
4. Quality Control
Check artwork for:
Alignment issues
Resolution problems
Missing elements
Incorrect scaling
Ensure all files meet print production standards before release
5. Collaboration
Work closely with designers and operations team
Flag any issues with designs before print
Support the team in improving artwork accuracy and efficiency
Key Requirements
Strong experience with Adobe Illustrator (essential)
Proven experience in pre-press or print production
Understanding of:
Cut paths
Bleed and margins
Large format printing
Vector artwork
High attention to detail
Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadlines
Desirable (Not Essential)
Experience with vehicle graphics or wrap design
Experience with RIP software or print workflows
Knowledge of signage or large format production
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Accuracy of print-ready files
Number of files prepared per day/week
Reduction in print errors or reworks
Turnaround time for artwork preparation

Deliver high-quality, production-ready artwork consistently
Work efficiently to meet daily output targets
Take ownership of file accuracy and print readiness
Communicate clearly with the team when issues arise
