Video Editor for YouTube Compilation Channel (Full-Time Remote)
We run a growing YouTube channel producing compilation-style videos. We're looking for a full-time video editor to handle 3-4 videos per week to start, scaling to 4-5 once you're comfortable with the workflow.
How it works: You'll receive a pre-assembled draft project file in Premiere Pro. The draft already has clips placed on the timeline with transitions, blur backgrounds, voiceover, and audio ducking. Your job is to take it from draft to final — pacing, trimming, audio cleanup, sound effects, and making sure the video feels polished and engaging for viewers.
What you'll be doing:
- Receive draft Premiere Pro project files (clips, transitions, and voiceover already placed)
- Adjust pacing — trim clips that are too long, remove dead
- Fix audio — normalize levels, add SFX on transitions, ensure voiceover sits cleanly over clip audio
- Quality control — remove or replace clips with bad quality that slipped through
- Add finishing touches — fade in/out polish, overall feel
- Export and deliver final video files
Requirements:
- Premiere Pro
- Good eye for pacing — you understand what keeps viewers watching
- Reliable internet and ability to handle large project files (500MB-1GB)
- Available for full-time hours (40hr/week)
Nice to have:
- Understanding of YouTube audience retention
- Familiarity with audio ducking and SFX timing
Compensation: $800-1,000/month USD (full-time)
To apply: Send a link to a YouTube video you've edited (or similar work). Tell me how long it took you to edit and what tools you used. Bonus points if you can explain what makes a compilation video's pacing feel right vs wrong.
