Senior Civil 3D Designer – Earthworks Modelling (Contract)
The Opportunity

We are seeking a senior Civil 3D designer with proven expertise in earthworks modelling and 3D grading to support a time-critical landfill concept design. This role suits an autonomous, senior operator who can take project-level direction and deliver accurately without supervision.

Stubbs Consultants is an independent New Zealand civil infrastructure engineering practice supporting industrial, commercial, and land development projects in operational and environmentally sensitive environments. Led by a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with over 16 years’ experience, the practice provides earthworks design, stormwater, site grading, and design management services from feasibility through to construction delivery. This is a high-trust, delivery-focused engagement.

The Project
A live project commencing mid-April requires delivery within a 3–4 week programme. The assignment involves developing a concept earthworks model for a landfill facility, including:

-Staged filling strategy
-Capacity optimisation
-Practical grading aligned with operations
-Cut/fill volume assessments

Your Role
-Working under the direction of a NZ Chartered Professional Civil Engineer (CPEng), you will:
-Translate defined engineering intent into Civil 3D models
-Develop surfaces, grading, and volume outputs
-Produce clean, structured drawings (DWG + PDF)

Inputs provided:
-Topographical survey data
-2D concept plans
-Written design brief

This role is suited to a senior Civil 3D designer who:
Has 8+ years’ experience in 3D grading, earthworks modelling, and 3D drainage
Works autonomously with minimal supervision
Can take project-level direction and execute efficiently

Not suited to graduate or intermediate-level applicants.

Engagement Model
-Contract / gig-based role
-Fixed scope initial assignment.
-Full commitment required during delivery period

Contractor must provide own Civil 3D software and equipment

Commercials
Looking for a fixed price:
USD $1,200 – $1,800).

Expected Hours : Typically 40–100 hours, depending on capability
Paid trial task required. USD$100
