ZoDen is a design- and construction-focused firm specializing in residential projects throughout the United States. We collaborate closely with homeowners, contractors, and consultants to deliver practical, code-compliant, and well-documented residential designs suitable for permitting and construction.
Position Overview:
ZoDen is seeking a full-time Architect with proven experience in U.S. residential construction to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with distributed project teams.
The ideal candidate is comfortable managing projects from early design through permitting and construction support, and is familiar with U.S. codes, zoning requirements, and residential construction practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare complete residential architectural drawing sets for permitting and construction.
Develop design concepts, floor plans, and construction details compliant with U.S. building codes and local jurisdiction requirements.
Coordinate remotely with structural and MEP consultants, contractors, and clients.
Respond to plan review comments and revise drawings per AHJ requirements.
Review RFIs, shop drawings, and construction documents for design compliance.
Provide remote construction support and attend virtual coordination meetings.
Maintain clear documentation and adherence to project scope, budget, and schedule.
Required Qualifications:
Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch).
3–5+ years of experience in U.S. residential architecture and construction.
Strong understanding of U.S. building codes, zoning, and permitting processes.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent architectural software.
Experience producing detailed and permit-ready construction documents.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Licensed Architect or actively pursuing licensure.
Experience with residential renovations, additions, and single- or multi-family projects.
Familiarity with construction administration and contractor coordination.
